In a world of dejection
i stand here and salute
to the absence of spirit
to those who see but the wealth they have created
on the expense of mother earth

To pick a flower you risk touching a thorn
I am often left pondering whether the thorn is worth picking up a flower

Walk into the ecstasy of the night
leave behind the broken hearts and the shattered glass
let the images dissolve into dust
and let your vision adjust to
the beauty of nothingness

and think not of how to get out.

I am baffled by those who build walls
around someone who is not there

it was a different kind

that life is heaven

that words are poetry
and kisses are

for believing that i could
forget my tune
