Biting your tongue
so the words don't slip out.
The taste of copper,
sharp in your mouth.
"Penny for your thoughts"
the saying goes
but they could never afford
the words buried below.
Sentenced to silence,
laid in unmarked graves,
as you're slowly murdered
by the things you don't say.

~J.M. Green
This is probably my favourite poem by him! I love it!
We turn to poetry

her lover from before.
She has worlds within
I'm longing to explore.

~J.M. Green
No matter how dark
your night, my friend,
may you always find
enough light
to take the next step.

~J.M. Green
To respond to hateful acts
with hatred
is to become
the very thing you despise

~J.M. Green
Is it love you want,
or merely
an anesthetic

~John Mark Green.
A mirror
is what I want
to be;
reminding
you
of all
your
forgotten
beauty.

~J.M. Green
Each of us is a story,
waiting for a devoted reader
who will take us off the shelf
and embrace all our plot twists.

~J.M. Green
Her lungs
were collapsing
from the
growing pressure
of all the words
she wasn't saying.
The silence
was suffocating.

~John Mark Green
She was a tragic beauty.
Sadness had left its fingerprints
all over her face.
