Breathless Wind
Johanna Dagley Nov 2012
And as the leaves change colors
And kiss the trees goodbye,
They meet lips with another
The ground upon which they'll lie

And just as the seasons change,
My thoughts wander back to you
Wishing things could be the same
Standing alone, under a sky so blue

And just as the waves roll past,
kissing the skin of my toes
I wish that we could last,
I wish it was I you chose.

Our Stories
Johanna Dagley Jan 2013
I wonder if there is a thing
such as fate
Or if for destiny,
We're all too late?

Do we write our own stories,
or is God our author?
Should we praise him for our glories,
or curse him for our horrors?

Are we responsible for us,
or should we shift the blame?
Who is there to truly trust,
If we are all sinful just the same?

If love cannot be made or fixed,
is it forever broken?
What's here for us in this cruel mix?
I feel of my soul I have been stolen.

Hope
Johanna Dagley May 2013
And if you think all is lost,
look again.
Surround yourself with happiness,
with love, peace, and good friends.

And if anger overcomes you,
look around.
Don't give into temptations,
pick yourself up off the ground.

And if happiness is what you seek,
don't be afraid to venture on.
While the world may seem so bleak,
paint a new picture, write a new song.

And if love is something you fear,
carry on to find it.
Never let your hopes disappear,
never succumb to the silence.

Spring Fever
Johanna Dagley Jan 2013
And as I close my eyes,
and dream of warmer days
I envision bright blue skies
and sun kissed waves

I can hear the children laughing
the song of happiness
I can hear the waves splashing
upon the beach which they caress

I long for sunny days
where my nose is no longer cold
I dream of lands far, far away
where which I can grow old

Winter Love
Johanna Dagley Nov 2012
And as the wind sighs softly,
Spinning snow through the air
I wonder if there are angels above me,
To protect me from life's scares.

And as I lift my head to the heavens,
The snowflakes kiss my cheeks
I wonder if I'll ever have a true sense
Of out of life, what I truly seek.

And as my nose grows pink with chill,
And the branches grow heavy with snow
I stand in a loud world, so still,
Underneath the moon's soft glow.

And as the world is at peace,
With lights diminished in the night
I lay beneath the stars to sleep,
Closing my eyes to the most beautiful sight.
