To My Lovely
Joel Martinez Oct 2014
I can't help to recall
What parts you from them all.
Perhaps your fits, your wits?
Perhaps you hips or lips.
Whatever it is, I'm set.
Just make me not regret.
Joel Martinez Oct 2014
You can kick all you want
It doesn't change a thing.
You can change a font,
But it wouldn't change the ping.
You're as pathetic as I am,
Meaningless in existence.
I'd hold you in my hand,
And crush you in an instance.
And you can deny it all, you fake.
But you're still one of God's mistakes.

Thoughts can't really stop
Joel Martinez Jul 2014
A mind as discursive as mine
Comes across your image as often as anything.
Mind so unsure,
Yet you're the last thing I could ever come to abhor.
Be as nimble as a tingle from a dismaying thought whispered from my mind to yours.
It's much simpler like that.
The spread of the ideas can cross into the uncharted.
An unintentional swooning occurs in our chats.
Mutually respective, but with a thick latch.
If your intention involve my disappearance,
Just tell me, I'll stop.
Nothing but an idea shall exist in my thoughts.

Questionable Existence
Joel Martinez Apr 2014
I'm not sure as to whether
My thoughts could coincide.
I could probably live forever
If I had the will inside.

For am I to blame
For what thoughts provoke?
My rise occurs in flames,
Like the memories of the folk.

And since I have tomorrow
To distract of all this sorrow
Then let it all pass
For this day won't be my last

Megalomania
Joel Martinez Feb 2014
You sometimes make me feel like a megalomaniac. Is that bad?
Are these feelings that I'm feeling what's expected to be had?
You infringe my mind in such circuitous ferment.
It's a proclivity, these thoughts
Yet such propensity is irrevocable.
An inscrutable contraband reverberating in a sedulous manner grasping tender hands.
Perhaps it's not transient, but equitable.
Not scathing, but salutary.
Well there's only one way to ascertain.
That is simply to acculturate.

I Am God
Joel Martinez Jan 2014
If I were truly of the composition of man
Would I still have this constitution of a god?
I lay here in an internal slumber as these savages attack and feast like dogs.
Though my prison is of good intention
I now know of the divine divinity of my divine intervention.
For no one is of greater power
In enough to remove one's soul.
And no one is of greater entertainment
Than to buy that of which is being sold.
And no one is of greater influence
Than the conqueror who does as he's told.
I am God.
For I am in presence
In times of weal and woe.
Read this as if you're the narrator, but read it as a human,

If we were alone
We wouldn't be so together.
If sadness was heavy,
Maybe sad thoughts shouldn't tether.
In a world of dogmatism
We mustn't be the dogs.
Open your mind
Huddle up your logs.
Don't assume my intentions
are just for redemption.
The only redemption I need
Is your love and affection.
Our world is our conception.
Closed-mindedness is the cause of depression. We're never alone and everyone's not out to get us.

Shall I?
Joel Martinez Dec 2013
Shall I reckon all my reckonings?
Or shall I leave them be at best?
Are my reckoning of intellect?
Or are others' more and mine just less?
Could one differentiate what others have begun?
Or are we to remain and pretend tis' fun?
He who swears best always pertains to such a mess.
Art thou entertained by the thought of a child's game?
