Lookup up to the sky
A single raindrop invades your eye
You blink away the swell
As you let in the devil
She begins to eat your flesh
You bones withstand the test
“Must be a dream”
Your lips open to scream
Another drop, another devil
Scream and run and flail
Your skin becomes thirsty, pale
Pray to your god, ask for help
Surely he’s there
He’s the only one to save you
Grab onto the rod
Drop to your knees
Pay all the necessary fees
You’ll certainly be fine
Tonight the devils dine

he is always here, invading my unquiet mind,
what if, why didn't i, what might happen...so unkind.
holding my attention on an unsettled life,
phantom worries, negative thinking, and unnecessary strife.
i constantly ask him to leave, but he has no way out,
you see i created him and feed him, all to fuel my doubt.
without him i'm lost, agitated, a life in disarray,
he is always what i've known, a guide to show the way.
he puts on a special lens, affecting all i see,
distorting reality, an agitated reality, known only to me.
i have a secret though, someday he will depart,
he'll fade away, with the last beat of my restless heart.
