Light shining down- yellow
I stood there.
Opening my eyes
awakening from a dream...
I stayed here,
but I still remember.

At first- I remember,
it was a new world, yellow
sand shining like gold here
I won’t go back there
where people get lost in a dream
fog clouding their eyes.

Seasons drift across those eyes
only changes in color they remember
everyday is a reoccurring dream.
White.  Green.  And yellow
flickered with red and brown there,
but now I’m here.

I awoke here,
every face has unseen eyes.
Everyone knows everyone there,
now everyone is hard to remember.
replaced with yellow,
I let go of their dream.

The river filled with that dream
doesn’t flow here.
Never diverging it’s course, while yellow
leaves drift on, like eyes,
on the river’s spine- they remember,
where they’ve fallen from- there.

And nothing will ever change there-
where the nightmare’s a dream,
now nightmares are hard to remember
because now I’m here.
Sleep wiped from my eyes.
The sun’s out, and it’s yellow.

I try to picture a yellow day there
I close my eyes and think of when life was just a dream,
but now I’m here, and I can’t remember.

On Devil’s head with Devil’s push
and fall from Heaven’s gate-
into a world
so bright              so cold
acceleration out of frail control
no one to catch her fall
besides Asphalt
no hand to hold
besides her own
so long my garden,
the tears are spilt.

and yet
  the sun’s so bright today,
and yet
  the leaves do dance today,
I know the gate has closed for me
and yet
  I feel content today.

Do you ever wonder-
How can I live my American dream?
Does paying for college seem daunting?
Are you trying to find equality through education?
In the Land of the Free
all these dreams are achievable!
No more inequality at the work place.
No more inability to change social classes.
No more worrying about being helpless with your future.
No more wondering how you’re going to pay for college.
Because now you’re education is only
                X- a sign here
                X- an intitial there
                X- pay this interest then
                X- increasing at that rate
See it’s not that hard!
And you’re gaining you’re equality- I mean education
Right?
You’re choosing you’re future- I mean major
Right?
You’re getting that subsudized- I mean unsubsudized loan
Right?
You’re happily ever after...
An offer this
good
who could say no?

As birds we fly- to flee, persecution of day, the chains that hold us in our ways. Diving down
the curving road, over the guardrail- a winding path coated with loose sand- edging along sheer cliff,
where thorns of wild bush conceals our secret, and unyielding currents of whispering wind, carry us always further on...

There it lies
our alcove-
three walls of sun
worn sand,
cradling us as we gaze
out on ocean-
the day fading
while celestial stars
gleam down
and there we lie,
bounds untied.

I was looking out my window
when I saw you bike by,
I thought about calling your name-
hesitated,
and you rode past.

So sweet
the air,
running through my hair
while I ride my bike,
so soft
the air,
as it caresses my cheek,
I peddle faster
the air
rushing past me.
My bike transports me
I ride until I reach the blue horizon
until the Earth falls away from me.
The endless ripples and
waves soar and swell as
I try to smell
salty air-
but there’s only
a sweet breeze-
a warm hand
gliding across my cheek.

There is no
        window.

1/60 of an hour
1/1440 of a day
And only one chance
60 seconds
To live -
In that
Minute.
