Dedicated to Christa McAuliffe
New Hampshire School
teacher killed when the Challenger
Space Shuttle exploded 73 seconds
after takeoff 1986.( 25 years ago).

Christa, Christa, Christa

finally rode a

rocket ship

up to the sky

but why O why

did you have to die?

It made me cry

what are O rings?

Like Saturn's rings,

I do not know,

but I miss you so.

Mom,mommy,mother
a word and person of sweet attachment
Missed more than any other
More precious than any parchment

Let us not take mothers for granted
So that when they finally pass away
We will remember what can't be recanted
May God above lift up our spirits today

Remembering Estelle a year since
You went to your final resting place
With warm love and beauty sensed
A harder loss than ever faced

May God bless you and keep you
With him as well as in our hearts
Where you left flowers and nature true
Your poems of honestly, love with heart
Give quiet witness to God anew.

Nature Speaks

Remember me when you see the trees, as the mountains touch the sky.
Remember me when you played in the flowers by the brook. Is it too late?
I wonder.
If enough humans cared, maybe I could be saved.
As it is, I (Nature) am dying on planet Earth.
Some say it’s just a matter of time before the rainforests and the animals are gone,
to make way for roads, cattle ranches and strip mining.
The atmosphere is choked with fumes and green-house gases.
The rising oceans are choked with plastics and pollutants.
Remember me when you are lonely in your polluted city.
You humans are fouling your nest with poisons and ignorance.
Wait!  You must make your best effort to save me, to live sustainably,
because when I have died, humans will not live long after, since all creatures need clean air, water and land to live.
When I am gone, you will ask, “Could I have done more?”
Chief Seattle said, “We would die of loneliness of spirit,” if we lost our animal friends.
For I can Imagine how much you will miss the flowers in the fresh green woods with the refreshing morning dew and the little birds chirping overhead.
Go now and do all you can to save me, for all of you can make the difference,
between life and death.

Homeless and angry at the whole human race,
I search the cold streets for a friendly face.
Will you be my friend?
Abandoned by family and friends,
I struggle hard to meet ends.
Will you be my friend?
Drowning my sorrows with *****,
I wind up singing the blues.
Will you be my friend?
Kicked out of the shelter by day,
How can I possibly find my way?
Will you please be my friend?

Lift up your heart
To the grateful sky
Love the Earth,
do your part
Let your imagination fly...
Ponder on ways to save all life
Which radiate from the coral seas
To the rain forest light.
A blight is the greed
of the termite-people,
and our Earth they bleed
please do your part
People who care not for dying animals on their knees
Meanwhile in the rainforest,
the bulldozer knocks down trees
To all caring people I ask you please,
do your part.
