I Hate Poems
Jessica Aug 2013
I try to write a poem,
but poems are too hard
Rhyming is for losers
and airy-fairy bards

To put a pen to paper
and write about your life
I've had enough of all of those,
they only cause me strife

Free-verse script is awful,
for fools without a beat
Repetition's far too simple
just repeat, repeat, REPEAT

Those lovey-dovey ode-things,
that wishy-washy crap
And poems about hatred,
you all deserve a slap

Spare me all your ramblings,
I don't care how you feel
Your self-expression surely stinks
of mouldy day-old eel

To tell a tale of wonder
never ceases too be trite
To sing of magic wonders
is nothing but pure *

Your metaphors are useless,
your imagery is vile
Your sense of diction makes me gag,
I cannot stand your "style"

So save me your quotations,
please spare me all your rhyme
Shove that poem up your rear
and cease to waste my time

I look at what I've written,
this jumble of clichés
Looks like I wrote a ****** poem
so I'm the one to blame!
You can blame me for this :'(

Cold Dark Corner
Jessica Aug 2013
There's a cold dark corner
in the back of my room,
it speaks to me
and says I'm coming for you.

As I lie on my bed
in the fetal position,
my eyes are closed
hoping and wishing.

Maybe that one day
my dreams will come true,
that I don't have to be here
so down and blue.

The corner keeps talking
about how I'm going to die,
all I can do
is lie there and cry.

As the corner gets closer
and takes me in,
my soul starts to burn
as so does my skin.

My bones shall lie there
turning to dust,
my bed surrounding
nothing but rust.
This poem was written during some of the hardest times I've yet to come by.

God is Always There
Jessica Aug 2013
We often feel as though
God is far away
And we often feel that
He Is distant when we pray

So often we feel lonely,
Not knowing where to turn
Just a touch from God above,
Our longing spirit yearns

So many times in our lives,
God seems slow to act
We cry out in desperation,
But it's faith we often lack

For God is not being slow
In coming to our aid
He comes through in His time,
We just need to learn to wait

The Lord is never distant,
He is there by our side
And continues to walk with us
Through the storms in our lives

He always hears our hearts cry
And answers all our prayers,
He won't leave us all alone,
For God is always there.
I hope my words encouraging

I Don't Know About Tomorrow
Jessica Sep 2013
I don't know about tomorrow;
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from it sunshine
For its skies may turn to grey

I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what lies ahead

Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter,
Every could is silver-lined

There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky

I don't know about tomorrow
It may bring me poverty
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me

And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood;
But his presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood

Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand

Life's Own Battle
Jessica Aug 2013
Didn't want a battle,
Yet you declared war,
Each knock you gave me
Made me stronger than before,
I will not give up,
I will not give in,
You won't make me fall,
I won't let you win.
A short poem may be a stylistic choice or it may be that you have said what you intended to say in a more concise way. Either way, they differ stylistically from a long poem in that there tends to be more care in word choice. Since there are fewer words people tend to spend more time on choosing a word that fits the subject to perfection. Because of this meticulous attitude, writing a short poem is often more tedious than writing a long poem.

Our World, Our Battlefield
Jessica Sep 2013
Our world isn't what it looks like
The world isn't like a beautiful field of flowers
The fascinate sky and and conjure wind flowing through
But we didn't know what's dangerous hidden inside all wonders

Life isn't as happy as we thought
Our world full of sin and humanity lie
Destroying all the beauty of life
That's the reality I've seen so far

World is a battlefield
We are in our war with the devils
Our choice changes our fates
We must win our fight so we can get a happy eternal life

We don't own this world
This is not our home
This is just a beginning of our journey
Be critical so we can succeed

Stand up for yourself, that's what you need
****** no one, ****** your God
God knows everything so we must believe Him
Let's go winning this battle

Our World, Is Our Battlefield
Hope my words encouraging! ;)

Whispering Hope
Jessica Jul 2013
Soft as the voice of an angel
Breathing a lesson unhead
Hope with a gentle persuasion

Whispers her comforting word:
Wait till' the darkness is over
Wait till' the tempest is done
Hope for sunshine tomorrow
After the shower

If, in the dusk of the twilight
Dim be the region afar
Won't be deepening darkness
Brightening the glimmering star?

Then when the night is upon us,
Why should the heart sink away?
When the dark midnight is over
Watch for the breaking of day

Whispering hope, how welcome Thy voice
Making my heart in its sorrow rejoice

Hope, as an anchor so steadfast
Rends the dark veil for the soul
Whiter the Master has entered

Robbing the grave of its goal:
Come then, come, glad fruition
Come to my sad weary heart
Come, O Thou hope of glory
**Never, oh, never depart

Lifeless
Jessica Aug 2013
I try to write a poem
To let go all of my emotions
But, I felt so empty
So lifeless
No inspiration in my head

I put the pen on the paper
A blank paper
That should be filled
By beautiful words that can't be forgotten

I just can't imagine
One single words
That fit in my feelings
That will bring that poem to perfection

My brains felt so empty
My ears can't hear anything from this frustation
All the voices suddenly gone
Numb.....
Filled my soul

I just can't let it go
I wish I can change the past
But I'm afraid to the future

Yes, a broken heart mess me up
I can't let the pandemonium in my head calmed down
Burried by the anger, the frustation
Locked deep inside my heart
All my inspiration

Thought it was dellusion
All the nightmares haunted my life
All my beautiful thought turns to dust

I wish.....
We could get back together
I promise
I will find you, I will safe you
From the eternal loss
I know ii wasn't good at all, it's true. I felt so lifeless and miserable, I guess I can't write a good poem in this moment

Being Christian wasn't easy
Between the religion discrimination
We are strong to resist
Tough when figthing aganist temptaion
This is what being Christian means

God bless you all who believe Him
Even when everyone resist
We knew God will protect us
All we have to do is believe

At the end everyone will see
Heavens will come to everyone who believe in God
80 percent people in my country is Islam, 20 percent Christian, Chatolic and others. Inspired by Jesus from the past, I know I have to strong to get trough this, even in Christian school, half of student were Islam. But I know God will set me free from this religion discriminaton

Haunting Nightmares
Jessica Sep 2013
Love fades
Tears turns to blood
That won't stop dripping from eyes
Buried soul, heart, and life
Break the bodies
Lock the way out
Which can't be open anymore
Swimming to the depth
Travel to the unknown
Walking without body, without soul
Memories.......
That's all what left
Never been able to find the keys
To unlock the door
Trapped in this world
Full of pain and misery
Forever

Until that moment
When I wake up and realize that's only a dream
Now I'm wide awake
Free from my haunting nightmares
I'm sick, ohhh, this is felt so bad. This is my nightmare on the most horrible night I ever been through.

I can see all abstaces in my way
Gone are the dark clouds
That had me blind
It's gonna be a bright

I think I can make it now
The pain is gone
All the bad fellings have dissapeared
Here's the raimbow

Look all around,
There's nothing but blue skies
Look staights ahead,

Disaster Strikes
Jessica Jul 2013
I thought it was over
I thought it was reached the end
I screamed alot of pain
Searching for a help

That terror reached me
A disaster strikes
Started when I see in the sky
A big Aurora Borealis
With it yellowlight
Shining in the sky
Switching my compass around

Strom and thunder attacked
It beat me down to the ground
Making me dizzly
And fall
I kept praying and wishing
It was over

Faith
Jessica Aug 2013
Increase our faith so we may see
What You're doing in our lives
And all that we'll accomplish in You
So our faith begins to rise

We need to be reminded, Lord,
Of the small mustard seed
And how the same amount of faith
Moves mountains if we believe

As we walk in pure obedience
With confidence in You,
Our faith begins to grow and flourish,
Bearing more abundant fruit

We must go beyond the limits
Of our comfort zones,
Our faith is activated at those times
When we walk into the unknown

For it's when the safety net is gone,
We realize we need our Lord,
When there's nothing left to fall back on,
We must lean on God much more

And faith is released in our hearts
As we bend our knee to pray;
We shall be strengthened as we walk
And commit to Him each day.
Another Christian Poetry, this time is about faith, I hope you like it.

Behind These Walls
Jessica Aug 2013
They watch the world,
with open eyes.
They haunt the world,
with an open mind.
They see you move,
as you live in this world.

But behind these walls,
lies a deep dark universe.
One where the light can't shine through.
A world where they lurk,
they play and hide.
Behind these walls, there's a world inside.

If you dare to look,
or even hear.
Go ahead face your fear.
You'll join this world,
one cruel day.
So sad it'll be...
But they can't hear you say...

Behind these walls,
lies a deep dark universe...
One where the light can't shine through
A world where they lurk,
and play and hide...
Behind these walls, there's a world inside.....
This was originally an idea for a song I had. It's kind of spooky if you ask me! I hope you enjoy this. It's true. Behind these walls, there's a world inside...

Running trough the fields of flower
And dancing under the falling leafs

Refreshing my soul and tired body
Relieve stress and bring peace to my heart
And heal my strengh

I wish someday…

Haunted
Jessica Jul 2013
I had a life
An unpeaceful one
A life full of blood
A life within tears and sacrifice

Trusting no one
Not even a single creatures
I don't know why I am still alive

I'm haunted by the past
By the memories
By the shadows
Haunted by someone
Someone from the past

Better die than live this way
A life...
That only full of my guilty
My fault
My lies

Yes,
I make someone cries
I ruining people life
And now I haunted by my feelings
That shadows in my mind
Looks so clear as a crystal
Haunting every second of my life
Following every footsteps that I take

I have been haunted,
I have been killed from the inside,
Now I'm just the shadows,
Who have fade away...

Treasures We Own
Jessica Aug 2013
When my hand is wrinkled so,
it's you that I will still want you know.
As my hair turns silver and gray
remember me as I was yesterday.

My long red hair blowing in the breeze,
we loved each other with ease.
Now in the park your hand I hold,
you keep me warm as it turns cold.

We sit on a bench and feed the birds,
not a single word needs to be heard.
Remembrances of years gone by,
we both smile...we both sigh.

Remembering our first glance,
and for hours how we danced.
The flowers you gave to me for no reason,
and the little things you did every season,
made me a believer in true love.

The kind that's been blessed from above.
Our children have grown and left our home,
all those memories we now own.
A treasure of love is between two hearts,
nothing has ever torn them apart.

Our love has stood the test of time,
we are still together our souls entwined.
Until the day we shall pass from here,
eternally we are one soul my dear.
Oh really, this isn't about me, I'm just 12, I write this poem dedicated for my mom and dad.

The Love of God
Jessica Sep 2013
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue and pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell

The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin

When years of time shall pass away
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall,
When men, who were refuse to pray
On rocks and hills and mountains call

God's love so sure, shall still endure
All measureless and strong;
Redeeming grace to Adam's race-
The saint's and angles' song.

Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade

To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky

Love of God, how rich and pure
How measureless and strong
It shall forevermore endure
The saints' and angels' song

Whispers Of Passion
Jessica Aug 2013
I've been trying to write this poem for days,
I pick up the pen and it just feels
lifeless ...
unlike what lives inside my heart.
so
I sing soft whispers to the wind
hoping it would take me to you..

My head used to spin
trying to figure out my purpose,
why I'm here,
where I belong;
asking questions to gods

I never believed in soul mates,
 now you have me seeing
things I never knew existed:

Paradise
in your eyes,
home
in your arms.
You gave me the inner peace I've been struggling to find,
I guess this is what it means
to know life in every breath.

So tell me do you hear it too,
how our hearts beat as if one...
because you have this poet stuttering,
almost speechless,
breaking down with joy,
and every single tear
is a word I don't know how to say.
Feel free to give constructive criticism, keep in mind I'm dyslexic and English is my second language. My point being, English is a difficult language to grasp, give me a sense of direction in your comments how to go about making this better. Not just this poem is cliche, that doesn't help much but if it gives you satisfaction go for it.

Where's your respect?
You not more than a fools

A sacred promise
Turns out to a sweet lies
Where is justice?

You don't have to be something big
When you have a big soul
A big heart
Your heart only full of lies

I hate liars but everyone a lies
I can't find a truth between this lies

I need a truth
Prove it to me!

O lord my God
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the words
Thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rollin' thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed

Then sing my soul
My savior God to Thee,
How great Thou art

When Christ shall come
With shouts of acclamations
And take me home
What joy shall fill my heart
Then I shall bow
In humble adoration
And there proclame
"My God, how great Thou art!"
For God, who have blessed me and you, my friends

Nearer, my God to Thee
Nearer to Theel
E'en tough it be
A cross that raiseth me

Still all my song would be
Nearer, my God to Thee

Though like wanderer
The sun gone down
Darkness be over me
My rest a stone

Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God to Thee

With my working thouts
Bright with Thy Praise
Out of my story griefs Bethel I'll raise

So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God to Thee

Or if on joyful wing
Cleaving the sky
Sun, moon, and stars
Forgot upwards I fly

Still all my song
Shall be nearer my God, to Thee
Nearer, my God to Thee
Nearer to Theel

I cried for help
Trapped in a maze of world
As the dark upon me
Begin to rise

Searching for a love
All have fade and dissapeard
With no left exept me
None of these people were a friends
I'm alone in this difficult world

That moment when you're come
Whispering comforting words
Cover my hands with a gentle warmth

I watch for a breaking of day
When the sun rises in beautiful light
Between the mountain I see
A hope for me
For my future and destiny

But it won't last for long
Now it's the time
When you have to go

Tears from my eyes
Falling as I watch the sunsets
But I know I have to wait
Till' the raises of the sun

I don' care anymore
Nothing can stop me this time
I grab yout hads and run
To excape down in to the sea

I know I'll drown
I know you'll be too
Once I doing this
I can' go back anymore

God, I know
We can't be separate
Even by the death
It's the time for us to leave
Even now we're not exist
Our soul will stay together
Forever

A faded leather notebook filled with lines he'd never read
Was never far away from where he slept
The book that she had written since her love was but a seed
A book so full of her he always wept
She never let him read it and he teased her every day
But now he held her poems as he missed her every way

Each page is filled with all her hopes her love and yes her dreams
Each verse is filled with him in every line
His life is now an ancient suit that's split in all the seams
Each day another step on his decline
She was the only reason that he woke up every day
The woman that he loves and now he misses every way

He tried to read the sonnets that his son said were so sweet
But he could never read beyond the first
For all the lines were tortures his endurance could not meet
With every word he thought his heart had burst
She had written in the notebook at the end of every day
And her poems are the loving that he craves in every way

And now the leather notebook lies there clasped in lifeless hands
He'll never read the verses of her heart
But his mourning son beside him has a soul that understands
His father never had the strength to start
He will treasure all the poems that were written every day
They're the story of his parents whom he loved in every way

Cold Nightmare
Jessica Jul 2013
It's about 12 o'clock, a midnight
A coldy one...
-25°C degress out there
Creating an Icy land

Suddenly, I heard a knock on my door
I take step downstairs
Without switching the lights
Sliding the doors slowly
Making a creepy crrk sound

No one there
Not even a shadow
Or a single point of lights
I light up my flashlight
But ran out the battery
So I take the candles
Lighting it up and...

Arrggghhh I heard a scream
So creepy and hopeless
A girl
She's not just scream
She's calling my name

I ran and ran
She chasing me
Without leaving any footprints

She is scary
She has no face
She full of blood

Then ****** a knife to me

Then I woke up
From my cold nightmares
