Jennifer Parker Nov 2013
lately i feel
that the stars in the sky
are too far
and i fall
when i reach for them

lately it seems
that the days just go by
too quick or too slow
i am dying to reach something

peace of the mind
i must find
first of all
before day breaks the night
and i'm standing beneath you

i'm wondering when i'll stop wandering
wandering while i am lost in true wonder
it makes so much sense
then i lose all i thought i had
it never makes sense
cannot lose what i do not have

turn after turn
spinning love in your lies
deep caress
tell me
all of the things you like best
i love you
say that you love me too
tell me
what do you see when you look in my eyes
sweet love say you do
because i just see happiness

days will go by
where everyone does
what they want to do
must forgive
people go by
only giving the time
that they have to give

lay down
shiver rolling from below
they had a taste for money
in the wintertime
charcoal clouds
bitter cold
that silence only ice can make
an aching echo to behold
for when those angry clouds roll in
they suffocate the soul
soft mumble of a shot gun echoes
agony destroys unfolds
a brittle chill of promise
weeping wary in the snow
they've fallen victim
to the ways of others
had no other way to go

and then one day she didn't
and i cried myself to sleep for hours
only hold on so long baby
only have so many hours
giving ups the wrong idea
it's more i'm melting with my world
i'm sorry that i love you so much
i'm sorry i cant love you more

my heart just opens up to you
it's something i cannot explain
you make me feel at peace
like i am locked inside a secret
but i'm so scared of a feeling
that has not been real for me for days

i got home last night
alone i cried
so sudden struck by longing
dawn was breaking
the pieces didn't match
but the amber shades of ivory
that were stretched across the waking sky
were calling to me blindly
offering belonging
and forcing me to try
