Straight forward         With curves
At any random point along the way.
      Onandonandon,      And on forever,
With guides & strangers all around.
We walk in lines     Of two together
        Frequently we're changing our paths
      Passing houses,      Trees, people.
Until we're at our final destination,
  And the highway      Keeps going
Going.going.going.going.........

Dear Clock,
Why must you be so deceiving?
I am certain that you lie.
When I'm enjoying myself, you pass quickly.
The endless laughter with the people I love seems to end within seconds,
Even though it's been minutes.
When I'm tired and bored, you take so long between ticks,
So long during the tedious work of a 72 minute biology class,
That seems to last hours.
Maybe you are showing me just how precious time is.
Should I cherish the good times longer?
Maybe laugh a little louder?
And thank the ones who made the joyous noise open the doors to my mouth?
Yes.
Should I make the best of what I'm given?
Be more grateful for the time and energy one put into giving me this incredible gift,
Of knowledge and promise of a bright happy future?
Yes.
You have mysterious ways of working dear clock,
Sitting up on that blank white wall,
Like the shining star on top of an unornamented Christmas tree.
And for that, Clock,
I am grateful.

Dear clock,
Why must you be so deceiving?
I am certain that you lie.
When I'm enjoying myself, you pass quickly.
When I'm tired and bored, you take so long between ticks.
Or maybe you are trying to tell me something.
Maybe you are showing me just how precious time is.
Should I cherish the good times longer? Yes.
Should I make the best of what I'm given? Yes.
You have mysterious ways of working dear clock,
I am grateful.

The blazing sun on my face and a cold glass of lemonade
Laying out by the water on the smooth, rubber, beach chair
The soothing sound of water crashing and swishing and roaring
Butterflies and grasshoppers moving silently yet swiftly from place to place
The water glistens and sparkles under the sun like gentle little sparks
A light breeze cools my sizzling skin and I am filled with the love summer brings

Calm is a purple blanket
While I lay in the depths of my bed
Surrounded by cloth and feathers
That give me comfort and warmth
My head rests and all worries wash away
The atmosphere is nothing but peace
Calm is a purple blanket

It flys through the air
Fluttering its wings quickly
Butterflies in spring
