A Lover's Eternity
There is an emptiness around me.
A chilling tranquility which permeates my skin,
and tickles the hair on my chest.
I shrink within my rib cage.
Collapsing my public imagine,
hoping that no one will see.
An inevitable uncertainty taunts me.
The sun plays hide and seek,
shackling me in my prison of linens.
I cannot not escape from this prison.
Only warmth and radiance gives me breath--
a smile that would save me from drowning.
I pray for a thunderous yes to follow my lightning hopes.
For now though...I am plagued with time.
