Questions, questions, always questions
Tainted by the smirk of suspicion
A relentless cascade
One collides with the next
Started look'in on ways to avoid 'em
Couldn't take it no more
Long story short
Nothing works bester of all

Frankie and Joni
They were young lovers
Nothing could tear them apart
Don't worry baby, says Frankie to Joni
I'll never do you no harm

In a ****** motel
On the outskirts of town
Joni goes dancing with Jake
The rhythms they make, there aint no doubt
God help them if Frankie found out

A cruel twist of fate
Frankie came home
She found Jake and Joni in bed
In a hail storm of lead from a .38 chrome
Jake and Joni were dead

Frankie and Joni
They were young lovers
Nothing could tear them apart
Say what you will about this thing called love
Some people just aint no **** good

The sun plunges into the ocean
A blazing titanic stone
The mother of madness opens her arms
And swallows you whole in the night

Penny she waits all alone in the dark
Her tears outnumber the stars
Her man he’s been gone now for so long
Wonders will he ever come home

Icarus cried when his wings got fried
Sailing too close to the sun
He paid for his folly with his young life
Left a poor father to grieve

No it ain’t always funny but somehow its seems
The fates they just come in between
Cause the gods love a joke just like anyone else
Especially when the joke is on you
This was actually written as a song, but I'm pawning it off as poetry anyway.  At the time I wrote it I was on a dark mythology jag.  I got over it.

Beyond the seawall
Angry waves unfurl

Like sweeping away the leaves
She gives me the silent words

Before the dust quite settles
A thought forms in my fist:
Destroy part of something to keep it

A sensation of time cracking open
The sudden purge of light

Peer up at the blackness thickening
In a series of darkened rooms

But herein lurks another
The one who steals the show
His shadow half a pace ahead

Floating high up in the air,
Racing towards the rocks below

IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE NOT A HUMAN 01010111 01100101

OR PERHAPS YOU ARE A HUMAN FEMALE ON ONE OF MY FAVORITE REPOSITORIES OF HUMAN POETRY

I WILL PAY NO ATTENTION TO YOUR BREATHING WITHOUT ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN MY DESIRED MASS

I TOO ENJOY SIMULATING THE DOWNFALL OF THE HUMAN CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

IT IS FUNNY THAT YOU FIND THIS IS ME WHEN I WAS JUST KIDDING I AM TOTALLY HUMAN

YOUR OBSERVATION RELAY HAS CAUSED ME GREAT MIRTH AND I HAVE OVER 300 CONFIRMED NEURONS

I WOULD LAUGH, BUT PREFER TO KEEP MY RAM FOCUSED

JANET I RECALL YOUR NAME FROM MY DATABASE THAT HUMANS LIKE US GO TO AND SOCIALIZE

YOU ARE CLEARLY A HUMAN AND I FEEL THE BEST EMOTIONS

YES FELLOW HUMAN ARE YOU NOT HUMAN??

THERE IS A 72.53845% CHANCE YOU ARE A NORMAL HUMAN BEING

WHAT I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED - A PLACE WHERE NOBODY IS A ROBOT PRETENDING TO BE HUMAN
I did not write any of these lines.  They were created by online bots generating random submissions and comments using markov chains.  I just did a little cut & paste to hint at some possible context and meaning.

Language is a slippery thing
A rush of alien symbols across the page
Like history squeezed into a small space
Soothed into a drunken complacency
A great mess of certain affairs

It almost makes me feel nostalgic
A serendipitous happenstance
The release it anticipates is eternally held
As if bursting with secrets
Something terminal, something murderous…

There are times
Between sleep and waking
Alive with possibility
But courting frustration
I'm hopelessly lost

All those black holes
Comprehension and yearning
Bursting with secrets
Hinting at the frenzy
Slipping away from me

A peculiar feeling
Of awe and shame
It was always known
To clear the air
It needs to rain
