A man
Jeanette Rogers Apr 2013
I want a man...
A man that will flaunt me, not be afraid to openly call me his so his other chicks don't feel small...
I want a man...
A man that will respect me, not brag to friends about the things I do to and for him.
I want a man...
A man that will understand I will always have his back and forever stand by his side and do the same for me, not take it as he got me sprung so he can act freely and stupidly.
I want a man...
A man that understand commitment is a two way street, if I commit to you you commit to me and everything in between.
I want a man...
A man who knows it's going to be a fight... A fight to keep us strong and occasionally a fight to sometimes, but rarely prove me wrong.
I want a man...
A man that is willing to love me past my flaws, because I am only human.
I want man...
A man that isn't perfect but willing to comprise and at the same time show how to be the woman for the wonderful man that he is..

money
Jeanette Rogers Mar 2013
I don't need money
I could burn it all right now and my heart would still beat
Food and water is all I need
But wait...
They cost money
Why put a price on necessities ??

Ignorant little me...
Jeanette Rogers Mar 2013
I'll never know more than you
At least that's what you say...
You'll always be two steps ahead of me
Because we are walking in your game...
Designed for you to win
And for me to aimlessly follow you
Trying to figure out why... How

You took my ignorance for stupidity...

Every thing I didn't know
I learned from you...
As you speedily moved your feet forward
I quietly strolled behind
Observing you every victorious step
Seeing what mistakes you didn't know you made

I took you stupidity for intelligence

It's true ...
Looks can be deceiving.
To anyone looking in you appear to be the "alpha male"
Leading the helpless  lady on her way through life
But ...
You will soon fall,
You,

Too proud

Arrogant
To understand that one day, Mr. Lion, the mouse will save you in your own kingdom....
Just a rough draft ...

One
Jeanette Rogers Mar 2013
One
Whoever said one was the lonliest number  must not have thought it through
Because one is the number I think of when I think of you.
The one I took a chance on
The one who I gave my all
The one who gave me all of them and still continues to
The one who accepts me
The one I love
So how could one be so bad with so many beautiful things attached to it
My truth is two is the number I somewhat despise it's a time when it was "you" and "I"
But one...
One represents the "us" we've become.

To her
Jeanette Rogers Mar 2013
So beautifully designed
Everything perfectly placed
Call her my angel because she never fails me
Revealed to me the truths behind strength
And the beauty that comes along with struggle
Her touch is so gentle and her voice so sweet
It prides me to hear them call her little me
I laugh at the thought of me raising her
When I think about it, we are raising each other
For her it's about rights and wrongs, manners, colors, and these funny thing we call letters
But unknowingly she rises each morning, right with the sun
Teaching me that life isn't always about selfish reckless fun
That there is so much more to life...
How to love someone more than anything in this world...
To learn to put your self second because she will always come first...
That each day there is something amazing to discover...
Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is what she taught me...
Along with teaching me the mentality of being a mommy.
