Jeana Turano Nov 2010
She gasps for air, strains to break the surface-
unaware of what awaits her on the other side.

Reality.
Emerging from the cracked cacoon, her wings pinned.
She struggles to catch her breath- attempts to recollect.

"What is this?" her voice quivers.
"A new awakening," she is retaliated.
"And who are you?" she hesitates.

"Dare you ask, my friend?"
"They call me Life."

Walking in circles, the clock ticking time-
Thoughts flooding through, alone in my mind.
Waves of wonder invade, spirits parade-
Leaving intricate footsteps behind.

You've lived this life before- not knowing then what was in store.
You'll try this all once more, before you close the door.
Narrow your eyes and hold your breath; be weary of the sound,
For that you hear, do not fear- your feet still touch the ground.

Billowy wisps of white- diminish into the darkness of this night.
Up and curl away, welcoming another day.
Light dances on my fingertips, while melts away the wax-
And when the sun arises- there is no turning back.
Jeana Turano Nov 2010
Initial apprehension- deflected by mysterious intrigue.
Synchronized soul- you've already begun to devour me.
