Waiting till they go to bed,
So I can have a cigarette
Hanging out the window frame,
Never to be seen again
Walking past and they might see,
A flicker of what could be me
Disappears into the black -
Never to be coming back.

A little bit of hope
a daisy blooming in my eyes,
A warming ray of light
strikes my face just right

A wave etching itself on an ocean shore
pain tracing from my fingertips
into the sand to be washed away
a little bit of hope today.

I'm still too young to understand the bad things that I have done
yet they come and pull my stomach down
at any time of day.

I'm still too young to know if I love you or if I should have gone
yet I hear myself saying it every time
at any time of day.

I'm still too young to feel the way I do
and I just need to ease the pain, in any type of way,
at any time of day.

Do we love each-other or are we just trying to fit in?
Pretending that because we laugh, we must love.
Telling you that you know everything about me
when I hide every thing I can from you.
Tearing my hair out, why am I such a liar?
But you've been lying too.
You tell me that you love me when I could be anyone to you.

I clutched onto the edge of the bus seat
Like it was a white cliff
Stringy hair covering my cheeks
Stained and littered with tears
At 7:31pm
I passed your street
And for a moment it all stopped
I remembered what it was like before all of this
So forth I rocked on the cliff edge
Wondering whether I should jump off now
Or save it for later
A little glimpse of hope that you might come back
The only thing holding me back now

Maybe let our hands hold each other as we're walking down a busy street
You say some simple words to me but they feel like a masterpiece.
Dos
Jasmine Oct 2014
Dos
Padding feet on the ocean shore
Man and girl are walking - quiet
as they can be for the waves are calling out
Out and in, out and in, out and in, dos.

Muddy, gritty fingers scraping against cotton
Words left unsaid walk along beside them
And her nails grip into her arm
She breathes out and in, out and in, out and in, dos.

The world around is ebbing away
Melting off the canvas shore
Layer upon layer of blue, blue paint
Out and in, out and in, out and in, dos.

I fall into the eclipse
Let it fold over my body
Every thought is a black hole
Draining all of the life from me
When the future comes looming in,
it's great big galaxies blooming over my
eyes that have been crying
for a bit too long tonight

When I look out of the window
Suddenly I am the nebula
In my eye's telescope - out there somewhere
And I'm floating in the atmosphere
Feeling like it's wonderful
Only for a short while before the mud
beneath my feet cradles me back in.
And I'll let it happen.

When you forget that the tide comes in at 4
And it is 5 o clock
Forgive yourself.
Jasmine Jan 2018
I never have to say goodbye
Even when the day I die
Arrives and in the dust I'll fly
In other's thoughts is where you'll find
The remnants of my ghostly dame
Jasmine Apr 2017
Live in peace
or die in battle
at least you will not
die in vain

When Mercy comes
with gentle hands,
the light will come
alive again

I have been drowning
But every touch of yours
Is a small gasp for air
Easing into my lungs
Releasing the pain
Jasmine May 2020
I can’t change the colour of blood,
and I can’t stand up for all this mud.
I am a stone.
You are the ocean.
Jasmine May 2020
So great my heart begins to race
Then burst and pace
Until what was great is just a pain
And the pain is just the mirror
Face
Jasmine May 2020
Crumbled in a bedsheet
Crying, don’t leave me behind
Standing, I don’t care if you go.
Jasmine Jun 2014
Go on and say it
Tell me you don't love me
The way I love you

Save me the pain
Of breathing your name
To myself in the middle of the night
My lungs exuding steely grey
Jasmine Feb 2017
When the day winds down to a rolling end
My room becomes a cave again
The walls fall down, and twist and bend
My bones will break and never mend

The sea carries a rhythm
strong
The current sings the very
song
The tide it dances with the
shore
The wave it yells a resting
roar
The men on board will stamp their
feet
Treading to the forlorn
beat
The stars will hum a mournful
croon
Tucked in by a macabre
moon
Jasmine May 2016
And suddenly I am seized
into a torrent of my emotion
a stormy veined ocean holding me
in its arms as I suppress my body
into nothing, just simply the way
the wind lifts your hair in a breeze or
how the sky likes to echo your mood
or maybe I am the shadow of darkness
striking your face as the sun has set
and the light is almost gone. Or maybe
I am the soft whistle in the air
rushing past your ear or I am the moment
when your music is playing, the sun is warm on
your face and you look out over the graffiti walls below
you and feel okay again. You remember
a million footsteps have pounded the
ground beneath you. The feeling that you
will never be the last; the world will not
stop going.
Jasmine May 2020
I feel like when there is too much space around me,
I could hold a breath and never let go,
no one would hear my hand fall to the ground
because the room has too much sound, and my
small hand means nothing to a concrete floor,
carpeted over to muffle the screaming silence.
Jasmine May 2020
Oh I wonder what would happen
If I fell back into ruin
Crumbled into my sheets
like dust
Never seen again.
Jasmine May 2020
It slips off the tongue like it's been waiting for years.
Everyone eats it up like they've been starving.
And I feed them like I'm starved of attention.
