Depression
Jackie Busch Apr 2014
Depression is a grey cloud
Temporarily hanging over your head
Whispering "You can't do it"
Moving with your every move
A constant reminder you'll never be good enough
I'll never be good enough for you

Longing for the storm to stop
Hoping for a day that can be free flowing
Wondering when it will end
Who can end the rain?
I hear foot steps splashing in the puddles of my tears
I remember the "hellos" in your feet

I recognize the smile painted on your face
I breath in your everything
It overcomes me the, joys with in me
Leaping were leaping together again
You've added a smile to my face
You've ended the pain

And the cloud disappears
You've ended the rain
The sun is shining on my face
The glare hurts my eyes
But you're here so I don't care
Your love is medicine for my soul

You've cured me
Saved me from this dark hole

I have a big brown dog named Beedo
He looks real good in his speedo
He likes to swim in the lake
After he lays in the sun getting baked

My bros name is Nat
His hair's looking quite flat
Sometimes he smells like a bear
Even though his body shape's a pear

We have a loving mother
We'd never trade her for another
For Christmas we got her a vest
The vest was only for the best

My name is Jackie
I can be extremely wacky

Mother like Volcano
Jackie Busch Apr 2014
My mother and I we can get along...
I love her and she loves me so on so on
Some days are good some days are wrong

The rolling eyes and sassy tone
They start it all, she explodes
It's so confusing to me not knowing when she'll blow

Lava comes pouring out with some unmentionable words
I've come to the conclusion my mother's a volcano waiting burst
But a nice volcano of course

Object From Nature
Jackie Busch Apr 2014
Your leaves come and go
Their colors so unique
In the winter they do not show
Your branches can be oblique

Sometimes I come to you to think
Though you have no brain your filled with knowledge
You absorb water like a tasty drink
You're living but cannot acknowledge

It's strange to me how close we can be
Without ever exchanging a word
We do not talk but communicate to a certain degree
You develop and learn like a young bird

You grow, you breath, you're a tree

Soaking up the sun
Squishy grass it has become
The mud on my feet

Through this tough winter
It's hard to find hope anymore
Seeing green leaves help

The snow isn't so white anymore
Would it be cool on my tongue?
Does it taste like dirt?
