Sometimes I See Lavender
Iwo Edwin Feb 2014
Toothaches in the early morning,
a bitter kiss that woke me up.
Toothaches trees in the garden,
I rely on Rose's but she refuses.
so many blackberries and apples on the street
I'm waiting for the next mangoes.

Prosaic, sometimes i wonder the need for
education if i will still follow the ethics of
my grandfather, without remodeling it to
                               suit my time.

But, when I look pass it i see Lavender

The death tolls have risen
three to four lost to bombing each day
I still see Lavender.

POETICITY
Iwo Edwin Oct 2014
Where i am
Somewhere on solid lithosphere
everybody seems mad,
viewing the world from an empty plate
yesterday and today can never be the same

about ninety percent of the world is confused,
the more you know the less you understand
you have no clue

pray for the mind's eyes
beauty in perspectives
Semi-rainbow Sedatives
Naked band of thieves
Slender neem twigs

when you see the light
live with it
Wherever you are
don't feel mad

Open your eyes

We've lost weight,
and our faces are pale
to hide our aim,
we protect the ace,
with the strength of our mase,
they said we shouldn't talk

Just some minutes to eight,
Pure water and cigarattes,
Not so much at stake,
like a dozen empty crates,
waiting for a bait,
but they said we shouldn't talk

We stood next to the gate,
and five men approached us,
with conspiracy theories
that made our heads burst,
out flowing with disgust and distrust,
but they said we shouldn't talk

They said,
hope for Gods grace,
Like the coperate slaves,
big ties and long sleaves,
or banshee wailing upon hills,
this is pure craze!
we are gaurds of this gates
and you say we shouldn't talk?

In the midst of dry afternoon sun,
Flies hung wantonly on soiled tables,
beer bottles, confused waiting in open pubs
Loud smoke, vagrant noise everywhere

Kekenapeps in broken parts,
Young men, women fight
Their kids eat, communing with flies
masons mans hat,
gba men's cars
The streets littered with wealthy technocrats
Visible twirling smoke, blackened noise everywhere

In the midst of dry afternoon sun vagrant noise, black smoke from here and there, gba men make cool cash wearing basket hats, wife fight her husband, their kids communing with flies,
I and boma sat calmly in a bar.

TO MADAM MAYA ANGELOU

Poets don't really die, they grow into trees
and continue feeding the world, not just with beautiful words
but with ripe fruits
Just lay their hearts in a pool full of words
and it will grow the catharsis of the poets mind.

BLACK GIANTS
Iwo Edwin Oct 2014
Look into my eyes and say my "black is dark"
your heart is dark your skin is just light
Your heart is dark your skin is just white
Your heart is dark your skin didn't make it dark

giants are breathing on black soils
let the entire world know
that black giants are on their way to take their throne
No armor no sling no stones
just an attitude of graphene

take off your coat of obscurity
Increase your aspirations
liberate your minds
recognise your oppourtunities
you green and white giants on black soil
It is your turn
your heart is pure your skin is just black

LITTLE SAND DIVERS
Iwo Edwin Oct 2014
All his life he had belived the world would change,
if he had more,
if he had done more,
so, he worked and worked until his hands became sore

he got what he sought
and after thirty years
of constant cut and saw
from work and chop, to hand and mouth
he looked out the window but the world didn't change
he still saw what he always saw

It was too late
his mornings
had already gone

My name is I
Iwo Edwin Feb 2014
I* want to be great
I want to be rich
I want peace
I want to be fulfilled
it is all about *I

I I
I I I

What is it with i, I asked?
will I even find true love?
Is I where I is meant to be?
Will I ever get an audience?
Will they FEEL I the way I FEELS other successful people?

I is worried.
I is sad.
I is troubled.
I is hmm...
I don't know what to say,
But finally I is alone his world.
I is alone in her world.
If I succeeds I is happy
It is all about I
                          I
                                I
I is like you
I is you.

YOU ARE WHAT YOU SEE
Iwo Edwin Oct 2014
I tried to be something,
great or small
I tried to be you,
I lost myself
I tried to be fast,
I broke my legs
I tried sucide,
I could't afford a knife
I tried to be bad,
I almost died
I tried to be rich,
It was expensive
I tried to be strong,
but I lost ten fights
I tried to be smart
until I met a thief
I tried to be funny,
I couldn't beat a baby clown
I tried to be slow,
I got lost, I was gone
I tried love,
I was rejected
I tried to stop,
I saw nick vucinic
I couldn't quit
so, I stoped to try,
I found myself in rags
moist in my own saliva
Everything I denied and disregarded was who I was

I knew I was a tree but failed to recognise myself dressed in plain sheets, as a book,
and you could be anyone
