isolation
Isabella Herrera Jan 2014
Every single lonely day

I spend in the unbearable silence

of your isolation

and every heartbreaking night

I wither in the ghost of your arms

wrapped around me

betrayal
Isabella Herrera Jan 2014
you were hazardous, they warned me

but I loved you more than the ocean loved the sea

so we loved

and loved

'til I had nothing to bleed

and after we loved

you loaded your gun,

only to point it at me.

as the ocean, you breathe,

as the clouds darken, your sadness awakens,

into the graveyard you sleep.

the ocean consumes your corpse,

elk and raven sing as you die

a sweet melody as you

leave with a tide.

bleeding
Isabella Herrera Jan 2014
You’re in the constellations I see as I gaze into the night,

you’re in the ocean, I watch as you leave with the tides,

I see you when things become unbearable,  you visit in my sleep,

when I can’t take another moment of this pain, I see you when I bleed.

"Goodbye"
Isabella Herrera Jan 2014
My throat tied to the ceiling, screaming your name

I refuse your isolation, but still indulge in its pain,

I’ll never look at the color green without seeing your eyes

how my sorrow befriends me as I think of you each night.

You must be happy, for you were the one who left,

I wonder what it’s like to hear the words you never said.

drowning
Isabella Herrera Jan 2014
His love is an ocean

and I am drowning.

Every second his heart beats

is another tidal wave, bringing me under

and as I sink, I think of all the things

I am terrified of believing in,

such as love.

The deeper I sink, the louder my depression sings

the feeling I thought I had forgotten returns.

I begin to take comfort in my suffering,

and as I sink into my sorrow, I hear your voice

and know that I am loved,

and for once,

I stop trying to swim.

your heart, an art gallery

your heart, an art gallery,

i’d like to study, i’d like to draw,

paintings for you to display in

your heart, an art gallery.
