 Dec 2021 Irving MacPherson
Doshi
I fear Winter
for with it intrudes
the loneliness that consumes
as soon as the sun shies away
I feel the winter sharpening my eyes,
my nose now knows that when the icy wind blows
it will be blown too,
noses know
no, they really do.

and yet as sharp as my eyes are they cannot cut through the snow, it's a good job that my feet know where to go,
feet know,
no, they really do.
Man with no name
Laconic in every frame
Smoking a cigar
Or driving a police car
Westerns or a Cop Thriller
As a Drifter or a Rider
Iconoclastic instant justice
44 Magnum to carry it out without prejudice
Mayor of Carmel
All American Male
Filling cinemas across the globe
East West North or South
Its got to be Clint Eastwood
Forgive me if the fatigue means
my eyes cross
and I lose the thread of your beauty,

it’s in your words, see?
Always has been,
a bit like me

And now my head nods,
we’ll say in affirmation
as you’re a patient person,

though my snort-start awake
will give me away

I’m desperate to stay awake with you,
but these days, y’know?
These days.
Memories in change in a pocket full of holes
