Forest Life

Life light pours through trees
Protecting them from darkness
Embracing me, too.

Thunderstorm
indigo insomniac Jan 2012
The drums roll with roaring madness.
In the ears of many, it claps with might.
Animals hide, overcome with fear and sadness.
They cannot escape their feelings of fright.

I see the blinding, bright light flash.
Electric is the stormy sea.
Before my eyes, multiple pale streaks crash.
I take shelter away from the trees.

In the maelstrom, the hillside drowns.
With anger and misery, the skies weep.
In its dangerous wake, the fire mountain frowns,
submitting to an unyielding sleep.

And I close my eyes eternal
As the land becomes infernal.

A forest alive

Green shoots sprout alive
Before me, the reach new heights.
A forest springs up

Why can’t you hear my screaming?
Just like you’d always been scheming.
Forgotten a place of dreaming.
Darling, can you feel me breathing?

We’d been speaking the old words.
I peer out the window, at the plighting birds.
The feelings of dismay had been coming in herds.
It seems as if we’d been moving backwards.

The words that rhyme with you.
There aren’t many,  just a few.
The tension between us, can you feel it too?
You would make me leave with no point of view.

I’ve been gone a long time.
It seems as if I can’t rhyme
The words that make me better behind
The curtain I close when I’m feeling sublime.
