Yes, I'm a statue. I wear a fine mask.
I fool everyone, which is no simple task.
But that in itself is simplicity
Fooling myself was much too easy.

When did I become so                                  distant?
When did I become so...cold?
It snuck up on me, I must have missed it.
Like bread not sensing the onslaught of mold.

It was probably a product of past disappointment,
Or the feeling of warmth, un-returned.
Winter has marked, on my heart a small statment,
Why attempt to be caring, when you might get burned.
