The Battle Is One
Ijaaz Sep 2013
Forward march,
Don't look behind
All that's failed you in life
Is at your back.

They burn your neck
Their laser eyes
They blow the whistle
Of one billion lies.

Don't turn around,
They stand behind.

With their drums,
Your beat they play
They control your heart,
And next your brain.

Without consent,
They tell you whats what.

What to do
What to think
What to say
When to blink

You break free
You break away
You know their tricks.
You are no longer a puppet
that hangs on a stick

The chains disappear
Your mind is clear

You are done with living life
In constant fear.

Knowledge is Mine
Ijaaz Sep 2013
On a mattress of clouds
I float in the sky,
I think,
"How on earth did i get this high"

I was on the ground when i shut my eyes,
"Is this what its like when someone dies?"

As a child, i wanted to fly.

I search for air,
But none found here.
Fish find habitat in my floating hair.

My heart is in overdrive
And then it stops.
My last glance is a oncoming shark

"I know what it's like to feel so alive."

Fighting Rest
Ijaaz Sep 2013
My mind is heavy,
My lids are weak,
My body screams
"We must go to sleep"

I rest my head,
On my pillow on my bed
My muscles relax,
My body is lead.

All is done,
My belly is fed
I yawn for good luck,
Into dream land i head.

Granello di Sabbia
Ijaaz Sep 2013
Beauty is right in front of us you see,
From the flight of an owl,
To the sting of a bee.

If you give it a chance, nature will surprise you
And the moonlight will embrace, then at last hypnotize you.

But this World is much more than what you can see,
But what you can feel, and what you can be.

When we all understand this,
The Earth as one can breathe…

The barriers that separate us,
Will then be forced to leave.

Road trips make me tired...

Tired of the quiet,
keep to yourself life
that I’ve been living.

They make me want to fly.
Just one push of a button will eject me into sky,
abouve the cars and trees.
Smiling,
because this is where I was meant to be.

They make me want to dance to the soundtrack of my life.
Because dancing makes me forget-if only for a little while.
All appendages flailing in air,
Attempting to make sense of the “rhythm”
That thumpthumpthumps from my internal stereo.

They make salty tears crust and dry on my cheeks
Because no matter how hard I try,
straps and locks restrain me forever inside
Leaving me unable
to fly

I wasn't aware that there was a dress code
For this new club that I've been put in.
That there was a way to talk
A way to walk
In order to fit in.

I expected you guys to be excepting
More so than everyone else.
I assumed that you would love me
no matter what I had to put on the shelf

I thought that this scene was special,
Something sparkling and new.
But now you’re treating them
The same way they treated you.

"Acceptance! Acceptance!"
You continue to shout.
But you should learn to do what you say
before the words
tumble out your mouth.
