 May 2013 Ida Werrett
Ida Werrett
Regal pines soared skyward
Like a great cathedral's spires,
Shafts of iridescent light
Struck the ground with holy fire,
Illuminating the forest floor
Where lacy ferns and mosses grew.
With brilliant greens of every hue.
Transforming violets into purple jewels,
Strewn about my feet
And water into liquid gold
When light danced on the creek.
Alone in this most sacred realm , I knew
That what I had always felt was true
A truth my heart has come to understand...
God does not dwell in temples made by man.
