The nightmare of love
Icarus Albatross Apr 2013
The light of the morning hits my face putting everything in its path
I enter a time of reflection
Is it possible to throw away my past?
Can my feelings be cast?
I am haunted by the ghost of her countenance
I live in a moment of absence

She entered my life so quick
And a beautiful friendship emerged
Feelings turned to love
And thus in my heart grew a flame
Ask as I did if she felt the same
Or if I was at fault somewhere
I mention it feels so right whenever I am in her presence
Unhappiness present in her absence

She takes some time to deliberate
How do I reciprocate?
These feelings you possess flatter me
But they blind you said she

My heart sunk to the floor
As I looked upon her beautiful eyes which I very much wished to explore
I thought to myself I can never be hers
I keep my feelings deep inside
I come to the realization to remain just friends
As I did not expect this to end
Which is just how it all began

The Journey of Life
Icarus Albatross Mar 2013
A Time will come in many of our lives
In which reflection will cause us to take a dive
In this metaphorical pool of memories we will cease to be who we are
And live once again from afar
When it comes time to return to the present
Many of us will reach for the closest anti-depressant
Try as we will to continue living through our days
Only heartbreak will we face
Till the shadow of death comes to claims us

— The End —
