it begins and I'm walking

today there was a funny sun
or so my son said
he was pointing out of the car window
at the brightness up ahead

down it shone
from far up high
it felt like June but its only March you loon
it makes you wonder why

up there it's often blue
sometimes dark
often grey
never stark
the clouds amass
all shapes and sizes
driven by the wind
and other godly devices
bright with sun
on those better days
dark at night
it never betrays
the feeling we are minute
we are only small
the sky is our life
a feature for all
