Never seen, hardly told
Passed around once or twice, it comes back twisted
Everyone looks- but looks can be deceiving
It's presence is present-less when presents take precedence
It's neither right nor wrong
It's merely lies within us
It's the truth
The ugly truth

A wise man once told me that exercise is essential to a healthy life
But do the laps you've done in my head make me a marathon man?
Because I certainly do not feel healthy.
This cannot be healthy.
I could run for days on end to try and catch up to you
But I don't have the endurance for that.
I don't have the time to be your marathon man.

It is in our judgment when we lose our logic
With thoughts darker than the cosmic clouds
And feelings nothing short of toxic

Subjective thoughts are best kept above
In order to increase this insufficient peace
The more you judge the less you love

In order to accept
That we are all amiss
We must dismiss our basic concepts

The evidence is evident
Clear as day
The Sun shines down so brightly
A spotlight in the shade

I've never been so certain
No doubts in my mind
The light keeps shining brighter
A power so divine

As quickly as it comes, it leaves
A brief instant in time
But I know it will return
For my thoughts to sublime

Monotony surrounds us
We're stuck within a vault
There will be no more success
After this assault

Such a troubled state of mind
That takes us to this place
Our thoughts have been redesigned
For no one to replace

Reformation takes its toll
With no regard for identity
As one by one, we lose control
Of what used to be serenity

The stress is overpowering
Too much for me to take
Hours upon hours
With nobody worth the wait.

Sometimes I wonder-
"What will it take to shake such a place?"

But I fear
For there will be more aches
And this place will always be the same.
