Unblemished joy lay in her eyes
in deepest hue of Citrine skies
of Summer Sun she wears a smile
upon the face of perfect days.

Borne on waves of solar wind
the void of space he navigates
ostracised, sails the sky
searching the night with polarised eyes.

With beckoning gaze, his look forlorn
watching the world float in space
off-ground-tigs plays he alone
for has no friends to call his own.

Muddy puddles and oceans reflect
mellow cheese, veined with blue
marred complexion, acne faced
through scudding clouds, plays peek-a-boo.

As old as time, a crescent smile
grinning the grin of a Cheshire cat
a melon slice, a boomarang
thrown into orbit, returns again.

Without our friend where would we be
the darkest nights through eternity
no tide to pull the ocean blue
no romance, for me or you.

The fairest hair, peroxide blond
beer shampoo feeding the roots
primped and pinned with paperclips
blown and set as candyfloss sticks.

Hydro-pack cream erasing the pouches
colourful lashes, stuck to the lids
with copyright brows by electrolysis
both almond eyes are now penciled in.

Lines of life filled with putty
trowelled in layers, foundations built
delicate cheeks, powdered, pampered
rouged and shaded, giving them youth.

Clinical lips, Botox injected
tattooed outlines guiding the brush
the budding artist colours by numbers
pouting, she paints in weatherproof gloss.

Turtleneck sweater hiding the wrinkles
genuine paste, drawing the eye
both purl and knit-one inside the jumper
pulled and snagged by glued on nails.

High heel shoes, stretching the sinews
of Lycra clad legs, holding them taut
a girdle of whalebone hugging the figure
gently molding, the form to behold.

With grace we age throughout the years
a time filled life, craves respect
hairs of grey are marks of distinction
an occasional blemish, a beauty spot.

Tiny crow's feet, signs of good humour
experience of life, lines proudly worn
for with laughing eyes and glowing smile
who need wear a plasticine face.**

I'm entranced as I bathe in your beauty
in my heart you reign supreme
mesmerized by your eyes, they're enchanting
and I treasure the pleasure I see.

With devotion my gaze everlasting
you're my ever awakening thought
then I cherish your smile as I'm dreaming
with your name on my lips, whilst I sleep.**

The look I wear for all to see
and worn with no disgrace,
a look of joy and happiness
is painted on my face.

This look you see, so fair and true
which cannot be disguised
is filled with care and tenderness
and lives within my eyes.

For the look I wear, I will not hide
the look that makes me sigh
would surely fade and turn to tears
were you to say goodbye.**

With two frail hands, Grandfather sits
of bygone years, he recounts the past
talking to all in monotony
stories from life as time unwinds.

The regular beat, the pendulum swings
heralding dusk, four strikes of the clock
facing the mantle, drifting in sleep
the seasons first dream... of hours turned back.**

Preened to perfection, paired for life
in ritual courtship, as partners they dance
arched wings held high, necks entwined
both pirouette, and waltz through the night.**
