Open wide as a window
Deep in his being they show
A door into his soul
Deep and dark as a black hole
To him your life is for naught
By them you are caught
You see not his eternal lies
Lest through his Dark eyes

If I were to die today,
What would they feel?
What would they say?

Would they beg on their knees,
or lower themselves to pray?

Would they think about yesterday,
or would they dwell on today?

Would they find blue skies,
or search in a world of gray?

I once wanted to be an opera singer,
My four year old lungs
Screeching louder than my little brother's wails.

I wanted to be like the ones on TV,
Who could capture an audience
By their mournful croons and exuberant trills.

That fat lady in furs and pearls,
So devastated by her loss
That the whole crowd weeps with her.

I want to move people,
To make them feel all of my emotions
As if they were their own.

The Pizza calls my name.
He whispers, "come to me".
He tells me to eat him.
But, I being noble say, "No, I am on a diet".
He weeps, and weeps, no one will eat him.
He tells his peers, onion and cheese, I am a coward.
I say, "No, I am not", as I begin to eat him.
As I finish him, he gives out a deathly scream.

There's something sad about the spring

The birds sing each other love songs
the girls wear their prettiest skirts and
hold hands with the boys who make them
feel beautiful

The weather warms up and the sun meets
the faces of the children who have stayed inside
all winter, kissing their noses and bringing back
the freckled faces that disappeared after September

Everyone and everything seems just a little happier,
a little sunnier, a little more full of the life that left
when everything went cold

All the while, I sit here and remember when,
nearly a year ago, I missed you with every ounce
of me and leaped at the chance to make something
work between us, the chance you never took

There's something sad about this spring

Your eyes the OCEAN
I sink into their dark abyss,
intrigued by your capricious mind.

I grow weary in the tide's push and pull.
Waves crash against my crumbling heart.
Lips dry, dehydrated, a single kiss would quench my thirst.
I'd drown in your presence before surrendering to land.

Your eyes the OCEAN
I sink into their dark abyss,
As you look right past mine.

One thing is sure, there is no doubt,
this is your life, and life's about
The love you give, the lives you change,
  the world around you re-arranged;
And you'll do well to not forget --
life changes not, but you change it.
So open wide your eyes to see
it's all for you! Now just believe.
