Confused.
Heather Rice Dec 2013
Every inch, every fiber, every morsel of me needs you.
Eats, sleeps, dreams, and breathes you.

I know you said you have them too,
these feelings that make you untrue

But to who? Yourself? Or the idea of a love you once had?
A place back home with your siblings, mom, and dad?

A place where you dread to go,
With somebody that you used to know.

I am here, I am now, I am real,
Though that won't change the way you feel.

Confusion surrounds you, us, her, and me.
All I want to be happy.

But that is so hard to do, so hard to be,
when everything I want is you, but you can't want me.

A Pet's Love
Heather Rice Jan 2014
To them you are the world.
Their parent, and their friend.
And when you leave your house,
They think the world might end.
They love you with all they have.
Trusting you with all their needs.
And you take care of them,
For their loyalty is not free.

Drunk.
Heather Rice Dec 2013
Finally this week is through,
What is there to do?
I think I will hit a party or two.

Ready to get turnt up,
Grab a red solo cup,
Sure as hell won't throw up.

***, *****, Beer,
Wait is that Everclear?
It's about to get crazy in here!

Mixing ***** with tea,
Oh ****, gotta ***,
Hey, hold this for me?

Walk into the hall,
Trying not to fall,
Let me hold onto the wall.

Make my way to the dance floor,
All the boys lookin' to score,
Tryin' not to be a *****.

2 am time to go,
Probably should've said no,
But home with him I go.

You call from out of the blue,
I was tryin' to forget you,
The only way I knew how to.

The Battle.
Heather Rice Dec 2013
The world is a scary and dangerous place.
This is not a white, black, or brown thing.
It does not matter the color of your face.
We each have a battle that is growing.

Yet we judge based on skin, and beliefs,
Regions of birth, & those who are deceased.
We are with holding ourselves from others,
We are with holding ourselves from peace.

Now we can fight & judge other's forever,
The way we behave is a choice of our own.
We can except all, & learn to live together,
Or be stranded, fighting this battle alone.

College.
Heather Rice Apr 2014
Surrounded by people,
talking and laughing.
Constantly out and about,
sharing stories and jokes.
So social an environment,
that a campus can posses.
It is amongst all of the people,
You almost forget one thing.
You are really alone.
