The Prose Poem
Hbay Alay Jan 2013
I want to write a poem
for everyone to read
Nut writing poems
just isn't my need.

I like to write prose
in sentences and paragraphs,
With grammar and voice,
and a picture of a graph...
or maybe two.

Here I am,
right now, right here
Writing the prose poem
For everyone near.

The prose I write can be adventurous,
with dragons and magic swords.
I have many ideas,
and adventures galore.

The prose I write can be sad
with miserable villages and deaths,
and evil witches,
with vicious wraths. (A/N I think that's spelled wrong, sorry)

Poetry just isn't for me
though I don't think I will
ever stop writing the prose poem
and ignoring the bill.

The price I pay
is much to high.
I lose ideas,
to the prose poem guy.

I have the fear
my poem will end.
Around the corner,
around the bend.

Though I can write about
anything I please,
My poem is not just a poem.
it's about everything, even your sneeze.

The prose poem I write
tells people I'm a storyteller,
That I'll never tell a lie.
This is another one from 6th grade, and probably needs to be revised a lot. I plan on getting newer poetry on soon!! :)

Party with the Sun
Hbay Alay Jan 2013
There was once a time
I was the friend.
The friend of the sun,
The friend of the day.

There once was a party.
A party of fun,
a party with the sun,
a party with the day.

I knew I couldn't resist,
So I took the moon,
the night,
to the party of the day.

It was an ugly scene;
Day turned dark,
And Night turned bright
as the party of the day
turned to a party
of War.

The darkened sun
Brought forth a crow;
The brightened moon
Let go a robin.

The robin chirped,
and the sun turned day and bright.
I felt happy.

The crow cawed,
And the moon turned dark;
My feelings grew scared
as the moon departed.

The sun turned to me,
he yelled at me,
he banished me.

Here I am,
Banished to the moon,
Where I look down upon Earth,
and sneak peeks at the sun.

Here I am,
hoping for the day
another fool would bring
the moon
to the party with the sun.
I wrote this in 6th grade, and isn't one of my best...I came across it, and so decided to share.
