THE PRISONER
Harry Mwesigwa Aug 2019
In the prisoner's eyes,
We behold what real pain is:
Ostracized to chains,
******* his fate,
Bruised and brutalised,
Treated with animal instinct,
Mercilessly tortured,
Soaked in his own blood,
His knee amputated,
And groaning in pain...

The prisoner lays helpless and
hopeless,
Caged for being loyal to his cause,
For loving his motherland,
For defying the odds and joining the resistance,
For fighting the oppressive regime
He is accused of treacherous treason
"A rebel!" they call him
Sentenced to the gallows by command,
And not Jury.
In a few days,
He is to be hanged.

FED WITH LIES
Harry Mwesigwa Aug 2019
I am filled with doom,
I am filled with gloom.

Tears swell up in my eyes,
and at every sunrise,
the light is darkness' guise.

Listening to the sad ballad,
I remember the youthful lad
who left me in the mud.

My love was in haste,
and ended in much waste,
for I lost my chaste...

The passion was so sweet,
but as I recollect the moment of heat,
Grief is all I meet.

His name was Ray,
and as we lay in the hay,
He used to say -

"It's only you I love,
You're my dear dove,
You're all I have."

But he no longer cares,
yet I have Conception fears.
This fills me with tears.

What remains in me are painfull sighs
because I was fed with lies.

ABOUT HER
Harry Mwesigwa Aug 2019
A reminiscient thought flashes,
Across his genius "love
conquered" mind;
His imagination brightly mirrors:
"Adorable", he breathes.
He smiles to himself,
Revealing the sparkling teeth
And musing at the thought
About her.
His tender fingers,
Splendidly experienced
In the dispense of sentimental
lines,
Potently clench the pen.
He is to write about his LOVE;
What shall he write?, he wonders
"A poem about her beauty"
He audibly finds himself
answering,
So beautiful ink,
Touches beautiful paper,
And beautiful description
begins...

Without her I am lost.
