Mosquito Blues
Jennifer Jun 2013
Jacked up, jacked in
juiced up and
jacked off
*******
forgot
in a moment
hot
******(s) changed
instantly
from Sweet and
'touch me'
to shrapnel
underneath the pillow
case closed in--
--case she noticed
something isn’t right
And wasn’t it fun
                         wasn’t it?
Didn’t you come
                          didn't you?
to play
Slink and slip
dip
slam dunk shots
                           another round
Shots fired
                           put her down
off the rim
inside the skin
willing flesh to
accept the Great Lie
Misconception
contrary to facts
SLAP!
Contraceptive now
to all
jacked up attacks

off his tongue
tasting like
Kadian and
Starlight mints
a hint of coffee
          to speed things along

Less to do with sweet
tho I'd lick it from my fingers
Possibly the
mutilation
My intelligence and
self-preservation
severed slow
and easy

My thicker skin
slipped off my shoulders
onto the floor
fading into the  denim around
my ankles

HaBItS
           the bass inside
pumps
liquid compulsion

A branched tongue
on a
forked path
murmurs miracles
brain spins and
 eyes shut

Lips move
A rumor
hushed
ex plor ation
of
sighed effects

Ballerina tongue
pirouettes
and dips
skipping
skin trembling
slick and slippery
hard-soaked in
Finish Me
and
beads of cinnamon dew
tipping empty cups
sipping

Smoke Rings
Jennifer Jul 2013
I sit alone
Conjuring up metaphors with a sleepy mind
as absinthe, poured into my glass
reminds me of passion
all heat and
bittersweet
it tempts me just the same

I wait for the sugar to dissolve
the same way
I wait for love
Believing it will be sweeter
and like love
it only distorts my thoughts
blurs my vision
making my tongue thick
But I have no use for words right now

The floor
         begins
               to sink

I feel self-conscience
smoking my cigarette
vulnerable
Aware of the men in the room
How their eyes follow intently
the lines of my hand to mouth gestures
Their appetites wetted
the way my lips
w r a p and f o r m
Some obscene whisper
Full and round
I wonder if they've guessed
my lipstick and ******* are the same
perfect shade of pink
I blow the smoke out
and away
They smile

Dark
hungry thoughts
join the fog around my head

The floor
        is falling
             further

A man stands next to me
Insisting his attentions
Pushing his body against my arm
I look up at him and smile
I know he will not force me to think clearly
He pretends we've met before
and I

imagine

I am the ice in his whiskey
Melting slowly

Waiting
to be absorbed
against his lips
between his teeth
he will bite and crush me
pushing me
down
inside of him
He wouldn't even taste me
A cool burn then
nothing

The
    floor
       is far
             away

I Once Was A Thief
Jennifer Feb 2013
I saw madness in his hands
shaped like a path straight to me
straight thru me
I pretended
I was shy
He thought he knew me

Fingers stained
primary colors
                               he'd told this story before
and bold strokes,
he painted his home

Across my skin
a wilderness
awakened
while my eyes
closed                  to heat with no sun
He whispered
thru the trees
Once Upon A Time
causing the leaves to rustle
and shake
making me
lose direction         I was lost
forget I was
civilized

Sense[s] turned savage
I moved against him
stealing his story
with friction
and cannibal drums
Quick breath
                        words without manners
devouring his pallet
till the colors ran together
wet and
undistinguished
He became lightening then
heavy pulses of
electric and heat
swallowed
I was thunder

I wait for you
in the land you made me
becoming a stranger/I am so strange now
unrecognizable
under your sun

Your face
heavy in my hips
the memory of
lips against the small of my back
bending
and needing you to
break
me
against the rocks

On my knees
at the feet of the ocean
flirting with the notion of
LoVE
and other acts of nature
that pull me in
and under

swallow me

Thorns and flesh
ripped and meshed
bodies wet and
violent
dripping
*** and blasphemy
*******, *******, *******

And if I know that God is watching
Jennifer Feb 2013
From the moment of my exsistence
gravity bound me to low lands. Holding me firmly
under a sun with no mercy
to the thirsty earth.
I prayed to my Beloved for rain

From the miracle of our encounter
Love swept me above the drought Our bodies
collidng, tasting like thunder
ecstasy drenching the parched dirt
I pray to my Beloved to rain

She Wrote
Jennifer Feb 2013
not about the color of his eyes
The weight of his stare
pushed her back
pressing her will
against the sheets
her eyes
crushed close
an attempt to obliterate the heat

She wrote not about his lips
The way they pretended
to hold some shy secret
brushing temptation
pulling back
evoking her appetite
till she believed
starvation
would eat her alive

She wrote not about the battles
repeated
with wet skin
fire
fingers clasped and
limbs entwined
Their warrior cries and
hushed urgings
the inevitability of
death
a quiet relief
that held only
until war
was incited once more

What she did write
the sadness
the annilhation of reason
that completely
devoured
her head
How unreasonably her ego
stood down
refusing to protect her
leaving her
banished
to the emotional
unable to talk herself out of his charms

I suppose this is the reason
she didn't want to write
Jennifer May 2013
and plotting the death of
Love

We conspire
in tones darker than
the candles
snuffed out
between my fingers

**** the light
*we are playing with fire
