Some winds live on
in a place you can go
no matter the weather

I was born and raised in New England.
I've spent my summers in New Hampshire,
and Vermont.
I love New England's rich greens and vibrant browns.
I love the trees and how they tower.
I love the yellow of the flowers that grow wild.
I love the laid back people and canoe rides.
The colors of our houses, clothes, and hair add to the everything around us.
I don't think there's a place I rather be.

Connecticut is suppose to be smart.
And studious.
Its suppose to be a place for billionaires to play,
away from New York's lights,
and Bostons noise.
Connecticut is safe and plentiful.

But Willimantic is the exception.
The ****** capitol of the US,
where the drop out rates are higher than 2009 gas prices.
A place for social security checks,
food stamps,
and disaster.
Willimantic is the dark spot on Connecticut's perfect body.
But if I live,
learn,
and grow
in the dark,
will i be dark?
or will i just appreciate the light more?

The bus is a roaring,
humming dragon.
That growls and stalls,
The buses fire,
warms us from the outside cold.
The bus takes us away,
to far away lands,
where dragons could never exist.

I woke up every morning,
I went to every class,
rode every bus home,
just so i could sit at home,
and do nothing.

One day,
There will be no killings,
No wars or scandals.
No breakups or fights,
No bullying or suicides.
Everyone will be happy and considered sane,
And world will be all around a better place.
But today,
Is not that day.

While Emily is still at school
and Sydney is on her own
I sit on the bus
and think about writing a poem
