Study away, forget the rest
Happiness unfolds, beyond your grasp.
Yell, scream and kick away,
The faces soon will turn this way
To taunt me, to haunt me.
Though the phone call said the same
I'll gladly stay once more to play your game.

Poisonous Color
Hank Dorsch Sep 2012
Sunburst water, reflected up.
Rising above till it’s gone.
And where is it from
This potion of love.
Ponder on this
Till the autumn turns crisp,
Reflect the orange,
Send back the brightness.
Return the blues and the
Different hues.
The clean earth, the clean palate.
The clean, clean white
Rises above the kites.

Snow Day
Hank Dorsch Nov 2011
One person just stop and listen.
Just stop and leave.
My only victory is when the rains freeze.

My only smile creeps on and on
When im not met with a frown, then gone.

You think the blank landscape would fill in.
A mind can draw
A blank slate can be drawn on.
But the vastness closes,
The tiniest space is left.
That is where I stand.
And I can’t see past the fake;
The bloodshot eyes
From times too late
If I didn’t know better,
Id be dead.
If I never learned,
Id be alive.
But here I am
Enveloped in between.

Run
Hank Dorsch Oct 2011
Run
Times wasted never show to the outside world,
But it's in a whirl to me.
The twisting confines of my mind
Just tangle up more as I look to find
Whatever is unsearchable, unchangeable.
Unified disgust entraps. Fall leaves crack.
And I can’t help but look back.
And question the answers,
While they answer the questions.

Fools to the autumn sun
But I can look past the fun
Replace it.
Replace it.
I turn and run.
