Vaanya Feb 2019
shards of the broken mirror
hurt like thorns through my skin
piercing at my past
it shattered for i sinned;

the sin of loving you

I remember the day
The day we met
As memories are connected to it
Which I can't forget

When he would touch me
Fireworks would ignite
When he would look at me
He was the most beautiful sight

His eyes were ocean deep
As if I could swim in them
But if I looked a little deeper
I would find a treasure; the real gem

I'd trade my soul for a wish
Pennies and dimes for his kiss
But now, he belongs with me
It is truly a serendipity

As the wind blows
Carrying spring's hues
A leaf floats down
And suddenly, I'm reminded of you

As twilight falls
The sky turns a hazy blue
Under the starry evening
I'm thinking of nights spent with you

As the silence finally settles in
I'm still reminiscing
Maybe it's my heart; perhaps my soul
I feel something shattering

Fold our memories back
Turn off the lights; pitch- black
But can you cease the flashbacks?

Crease my love for you
I know you miss me too
Want to start anew?

Tear my emotions apart
My fragile little paper heart;
Not unlike some destroyed art

Cut out the pieces of melody
Strung together with the hanging melancholy
Like broken Japanese origami
Vaanya Feb 2019
a saccharine melody fills me in
the weight of your gaze
dripping with sin
like a broken violin
