day after day
Hadyn Jule May 2014
another day,
another night soaked in
sadness, in thoughts and
worries - uncaring worries
that what I said, that what I did
pushes that much further away
that coveted joy of finding her -
loving and kind, understanding
and whole - a newborn's first
breath - it's measure to stay.

how cruel it seems; these trials -
these heartless, callous, prosaic
trials - this test of the heart's
endurance to pain, the vulture's
prey, and to bear it again
day after day
after day
after day.
Hadyn Jule Dec 2018
I would like to live in a world where harmony is encouraged and allowed to flourish, where there is a true concern for the betterment of mankind and the welfare of all people.

I would like to live in a place where I could trust authority to do what's right for the planet instead of what's right for its pockets at the expense of the world.

I would like to find a place where fear, greed and hatred aren't promoted, driving people to submit to conformity and their owner's demands, consume what they don't need, despise people they don't know.

I would like to live on a planet where I didn't have to keep looking over my shoulder, wondering if I'm safe, wondering if the food is fit to eat, the water is fit to drink and air is fit to breathe ...and if I have privacy.

I would like to be somewhere I can know as my home, not someone else's idea and agenda of what that should mean to me - how I should live, how I should think and whom I should accept into my life, and call my friend.

Deception
Hadyn Jule Dec 2017
First the sadness starts,
then the memories rise up to great it
in their familiar, secret rendezvous -
inseparable as twins, or antique bookends
in a king's ancient parlor

What trust they must have - one to the other -
to make such a pact for all eternity -
to lock into a destiny thwarting any other

Is it fate that turns the two together,
that stirs the brew they drink, or could it
be a kind of dance - a waltz which, at a glance
would seem a lover's innocence, but which
so quietly steals time just to open Satan's gate
