The love I hold for you
Graydon Archer Nov 2012
There is a love that goes beyond passion. Beyond desire.

A love that is felt within the very fiber of the soul.

One with ardent, inexorable devotion.

A love of imperceptible depth, and intense adoration.

There is a love as  unyielding in its fervency,

As it is in its sanctity.

A love that is immutable, and enduring.

There is a love that sustains and validates one's existence.

A love that is uncompromising in it's absolutness.

There is a love that leads one to their destiny.

One that is incomprehensible. Without concession.

A love that holds the heart in passionate seduction.

There is a love that is timeless and unending.

A love that is unyielding in it's conviction.

There is a love with irreducible and fierce conviction.

A love with immeasurable compassion.

And that love, is the love I hold for you.

The gates of Hell
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
The gates of Hell opened wide.

Six million souls stepped inside.

Beaten. Shot. Starved to death.

The words of God still on their breath.

Screams of anguish.Cries of pain.

Abhorrent laughter of the insane.

Mother's beg.Their babies moan.

They smell charred flesh and smoldering bone.

Cords of bodies in a row.

Frozen corps in the snow.

Gas clouds creep across the floors.

Hinges creek on oven doors.

Idle boxcars sit on tracks.

Inside lie bodies, in gruesome stacks.

The S.S. soldiers earn there pay.

They stoke the furnaces nite and day.

To the insidious cruelity

Of a madmans hate.

Six million Jews met there fate.

Remember them! Remember well!

Those souls who entered

The gates of Hell.

I have lived
Graydon Archer Nov 2012
I've experienced the exuberance of youth.
Through endless summer days, of blissful childhood ignorance.
I have drempt the most glorious dreams. The ability to soar with the eagles was mine, most any night. I was to live, forever.
I have know the delirious intoxication, of boyish infatuation.
And to such a degree, I have tasted the bitterness of rejection.
I have lived amid nonconformists. I shared in their ideological beliefs. Old Guard be ******.
I have witnessed the gatherings of idealists, who's main purpose
was to spread their premise of the brotherhood of man.
I have seen them chained and gagged. Beaten for their beliefs. Shot down in their youth, by those who's superficial dogmas kept them from the truth.
I have been among the ranks of the tens of thousands, shouting my incensement's against a failing war. And I have been to the "wall" and wept for my fallen brothers.I have seen the rise of iconic performers. Some who would pay the ultimate price for their notoriety.
I have felt the power of their karma and reveled in their idioms'.
I have witnessed the miraculous wonder of birth. I've had the privilege to hold the embodiment of purity, God's ultimate creation, in the hollow of my arms.
I have walked among the Angels. And I have delved into the pit of my own iniquity's.
I have loved the un-loved, and scoffed at those who would be cherished.
I have lived as if, there were no tomorrow. I have learned there is just today.
I have lived to be a better man than I was. I live to be a better man than I am.

Mousy Mouse
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
Mousy was a little mouse. He had a mousy tail.

And Mousy had a giant friend named Francis.

Who's a whale!

Now you might wonder how a mouse

could be friends with a whale.

Well.Mousy Mouse was a mouse

And he knew how to sail!

For Mousy was born on a sailing ship.

Far, far out at sea.

And having been born a sailor,

What else could he be?

The sailing ship was a mighty one!

With sails tall and white.

And Mousy would stand on the deck

And watch the stars at night.

Now Francis was a great big whale

Who came up once for air.

He looked up at the ship

and saw Mousy standing there.

"Hi there little mouse! Ahoy!"

Francis called up from the sea.

The waters great this time of night!

Come down and swim with me!"

"I'd love to swim with you great whale!"

Mousy shouted out with glee.

"My name sir, is Mousy Mouse"

"And what might your name be?"

"My name is Francis. Francis Whale Write!

And now that you and I are friends,

Come swim with me tonight!"

"And so I shall!" cried Mousy.

And he dove into the sea.

They swam around for hours!

It was quite a sight to see.

They swam and swam and swam some more.

Till Mousy finally said,

"I really should get back on board.

For I must go to bed!

Then Francis sighed a little sigh

And said "I understand.

"But your down here while the decks up there!

"I best give you a hand."

So he sat little Mousy upon his giant tail,

Gave it just a tinsy flip

And through the air he sailed!

Mousy landed on the deck.

As easy as you please.

"Thank you!" cried out Mousy Mouse.

"For swimming round with me!"

Francis said"that's quite all right,

We must swim again someday!"

And that's how they became friends

And still are to this day!

Erwin Stumplerump
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
Once a long, long time ago, in a land so far away.

There was a tiny, little man, ten pounds was all he’d weigh.

And this is the story, the one I wish to tell,

about his adventures, and the land in which he dwell.

His name was Erwin Stumplerump. He stood at two foot, three.

Around him hung a mystic cloak, that draped below his knees.

He was of Elfin heritage, with a grand and noble past.

His parents were the monarchs, of a kingdom great, and vast.

Erwin’s home was magical! It spread both far and wide,

and Erwin knew it inside out. He’d walked it side to side.

Top to bottom, here and there. And all that lie between.

There wasn’t any piece of ground, that Erwin hadn’t seen.

There was one spot that Erwin loved, far better than the rest.

And that spot was the ocean’s beach, that lies off to the west.

Erwin loved to comb the beach. What treasures could be found?

Perhaps a chest of golden coins, from a ship that ran aground!

Walking on the beach one day, a glitter caught his eye.

Could it be a treasure? Perchance was Captain Bligh’s!

He ran to investigate. What treasure could it be?

A chest of royal trinkets? The thought filled him with glee.

But alas it was not treasure. But something just as well!

It was the shimmer of the sun. Reflecting off a bell.

“What kind of bell have I found?” asked Erwin to himself.

It wasn’t just a normal bell, but one made by an Elf.

Erwin pulled the bell he’d found from it’s resting place.

And upon it’s golden body, was an etching of a face.

When it was in Erwin’s grasp, he gave the bell a shake.

He wanted to hear the sound this golden bell would make.

As soon as Erwin rand the bell, a misty cloud appeared.

Erwin quickly dropped it down, as something to be feared.

At once, within the misty cloud, a form began to shape.

Twas of a Elfin princess, with a jewel- encrusted cape.

Erwin’s eyes opened wide, he marveled at the sight.

"Who are you?" Erwin asked, "You gave me such a fright!'

The princess spoke out softly, with a voice so smooth and clear.

"You need not be frigtened, it was your fate that brought you here.

You do not have to fear me, you've freed me from the bell!

I've been trapped in it's grasp for as long as I can tell.

I am the Princess Lyria, and I owe you a great deal

Gaze upon this ring I wear, it is my father's seal.

I come from far across the sea, from the land of Emerald green,

A land of such great beauty, it's as if it were a dream.

There is a wicked wizard there. He trapped me in this bell.

By using his black magic, he cast an evil spell.

But you have broke that evil curse, by ringing of the bell,

And now I can go home again, and you can come as well! "

Erwin told the Princess, " I'm glad that you are free,

but I must stay were I belong, and here is were I'll be."

So the Princess thanked him, and went on her way.

And Erwin still walks the beach, and thinks of her each day.

Little muddy footprints
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
Little muddy footprints,

tracked across the floor.

"You kids stay in or out!

And don't you slam the door!"

One would like a cookie.

One would like a drink.

"Which one of you kids

put this frog in my sink!?"

"What have you got in your mouth?

No! You can't eat that!"

"Oh, my word! What have you done?

You just let out the cat!"

"Who was in the bathroom?

Young man you need to flush!"

"Whats that in the water?

Why, that IS your new toothbrush!"

"Come here and let me see it.

Oh, you'll be alright."

"Now there. It's all better.

Now it's time to say good night."

"Yes. I'll leave the light on.

And check beneath the beds".

"I'll see you in the morning,

my little sleepy heads."

I hold you in my heart
Graydon Archer Nov 2012
Transient at best , was the time I had with you.
For just one fleeting moment, I was blessed with your presents.
And in that brief moment, you were to change my life forever.
I had you for a moment. An interlude in your destiny.
An interlude I thought would last a lifetime.  Alas, it was not meant to be.
Should you have stayed, what wonders would you’ve achieved?
Were you here with me now, what joy would be ours to share?
The days seem less enchanting.
The evening’s seem colder than they did, when you were here.
And now that your gone, I feel ashamed.
Shame that it was you, that taught me how to live.
Will there be another moment that I shall spend with you?
I am torn between my desire to be with you, and the fear that
I stand the risk of losing you once again.
My existence has been enriched having know you.
And if it is, that the Fates suffer me the favor of beholding you again,
I will love you then, as I do now.
I will hold you in my heart and in my soul until then.

I've heard
Graydon Archer Nov 2012
I've heard the grass is greener
on the other side.
I've heard that you'll never know
at least until you've  tried.
I've heard it said, still waters
are the waters that run deep.
And I've heard that they judge you,
by the company you keep.
I've heard that the good things
go to those  who wait.
And that nothing good comes from those
who only aim to hate.
I've heard you'll  miss the water
when at last the well runs dry
and in the bed that you make
is the place you will  lie.
But of all the things I've heard them say,
There's one I reference to
The one I try to live by is
"To thine own self be true"

The passing of twilight
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
The passage of time, betrayed by the age in my eyes;

Imbued wisdom now replaces the follies of youth.

The storms on the sea of life have taken their toll;

And in their wake, a resemblance of truth;

The taste of innocence, long forgotten on my tongue;

Replaced now with the flavor of knowledge.

Vanity crept in somewhere along the way;

A validity I  was unwilling to acknowledge.

Night is in order. But twilight is a reluctant malcontent.

It wishes to linger, and tarry in the fray.

Alas, nothing has an alliance with time;

And soon, it will relinquish the light it holds so dearly;

And night will have its way.

A summer's day
Graydon Archer Oct 2012
Bluish green. Crimson red.

Pinks and royal blue.

The flowers of the meadows

Take on a rainbow's hue.

As if of silken fabric

The Lilly's gently sway.

The beauty of all nature

Alive and on display.

Over meadows deep and lush

Majestic clouds drift by.

Billowing forms of flowing grace

That linger in the sky.

Gently blows a summer breeze

So soothing on the skin

Rousing a serenity

That comes from deep within.
