is  a magical thing
more so than staying a child.
experiencing the miracle of time and life
Looking back at my memories
Of great happiness and great strife
growing into a new person
being a living being
that can live and love

and I don't think you know what it means.

because you definitely don't speak for ME.

I am surrounded by people.
Yet I am alone
I speak and they look on not knowing I have spoken.
My thoughtless words meant to fill the void
turn into pleading fits of my innermost thoughts
because I don't believe they will hear them

I am who they expect me to be
Because they will not open their eyes or ears to hear anything differently
I feel as though I am asleep
trapped in another's lucid dream
as their being for them to keep.
