Once, We all looked up to you
I knew why
You were stronger than us
We all knew that
But it made us feel stronger
To be with you
When in reality
It made us weaker
and paranoid
because people looked at us as your minions
When we only wanted to be your equal
Your friend
But in time the others left
When they realized  they were never needed
Because you never needed friends
You were better than that

Little Boys Dream
Glynis Anne Jun 2010
Once*
I knew nothing  of the world
So I picked up a little boys dream
And aspired to become an astronaut
8 years I trained
And wished that my dream
Would evolve into reality

And one day it did
Reality hit me like a bomb
For what I had gotten into,
Was 18 years in that spaceship
And in that time
My eyes witnessed things unimaginable
Supernovas, Black holes
And burning rocks falling to earth
My knowledge began to grow
And I was no longer young and ignorant
But my time in the light was almost over
It was time to go home
and there was still so much i didn't know

So I jumped out of my space ship
And learned the way of the stars
I danced on the rings of Saturn
And rode on comets until they evaporated away

The universe became my friend
So she gave me her biggest secret
It sat in my palm
And I feared it
But curiosity was always my downfall
So I peeked

The knowledge flooded me like a broken dam
I  had everything
And yet I had nothing
Nothing to work for
Or gain
...
Now that I had everything
There was nothing to live for
So I didn't

Artificial Smiles
Glynis Anne Jun 2010
A doll can only fool
We cursed them all with smiling faces
To comfort little children when they frown
But a painted smile can only run as thick the plastic its placed upon
When we grow tired of them
They end in garbage wastelands
With smiles still gracing their faces
In rancid piles of various forgotten things
Until it rains
The cold hard rain of unshed tears
And washes away the fake smiles

Because no thing , no matter how small
Should have to smile forever
Glynis Anne Jun 2010
In the middle of the night he knocks on your door
And asks what you fancy
He knows things that are bought can not bring happiness
So he'll give you a discount
But only because he knows his trinkets will bring  bitterness and greed
And that soon, you will ask for more
And when you do
He will give you what you wish
For a price of course
Again and Again
But your money will soon evaporate
So you will sign an IOU
Sadly, you miss the small print
The most important print of all
1 soul , it reads
But it is too late
The ground opens beneath you
And that's when you notice the horns
Peaking from the tips of his hair

My pain is in living
Glynis Anne Mar 2010
I don't feel the pain
The blade cuts smoothly
A burn is present
But its a pleasant feeling
I can't hear the pain
The room is silent
Only my breath remains
Held tightly in my chest
My pain can be seen
The redness flows from within
The pain it emmits is not physical
It comes from inside
Pain from my depths
My blood tells me Im alive
ALIVE IT TELLS ME
Who would want to live with such mediocre beings
Beats Me...

Hourglass
Glynis Anne Mar 2010
The sand is draining
Each grain hits with a tick
Like the steady beating of a clock
Tick Tick Tick
The noise is taunting
Its impossible to stop
The beating carries on
Tick Tick Tick
No one else can hear it
A burden for my ears only
Its a secret
I want to tell
Tick Tick Tick
A burden
I feel like I'm suffocating
The secret is my end
My hourglass cant last forever
Tick Tick...
The last grain falls

Young Seedling
Glynis Anne Mar 2010
Seedling of Life
Sink your toes into the earth
Drink, like a babe upon the breast of its mother
Earth is your mother
Your shelter
Grow young seedling, Grow
Reach your long wooden arms up
Touch the sun
Feel the warmth
The world is your family
