Let there be joy, let there be gladness

There in your presence, sanctified peace

Thoughts made anew, constant renewal

Adorned with truth, kingdom release

Bringer of light, depth in your word

Lamp to my feet, forever my guide

Dearest companion, draw ever near

There through my journey, you by my side

Patient and kind, ever so dearest

Quiet still voice, humbled to hear

Astounding joy, the fullness thereof

When trials come, I shall not fear

Standing in awe, honour and glory

Our understanding, ever transcend

Not one of us, ever could fathom

Heights of your greatness, spirit ascend

Promise to us, lasting eternal

Straighten thy path and rectify

Father above, ever so giving

Your holy name, lifted on high

Since I was created for such a time as this

What on earth am I here for, before eternal bliss?

Let the weight of your calling, bring greatness out of me

The epitome of Christ, is what I care to be

With your divine purpose, evoked into your plan

Your perfect craftsmanship, made with your mighty hand

Spiritually lead me, with fresh waters anew

Let your holy spirit, guide me in what I do

In accordance with your blueprint, my purpose I will seek

My life is not my own, I am truly yours to keep

Before my birth you knew me, you knew my every path

The hairs upon our head Lord, I’ll let you do the math

Made into your image, the warmth of your embrace

Align me with your will Lord, let me win the race

Words cannot express the wonders of your love

That you would send your only son, from heaven above

The gifts you have bestowed me with and great ability

Open the eyes of my heart Lord that one day I shall see

Let me not take for granted of who you care to bless

Let me endure trials as you guide me through this test

Be my divine inspiration, knowledge not of man

Guide me to your truth so that I will understand

God has a sense of humour, he does like to remind

That even in the early hours, you are truly divine!

Peering through the enchanted door, tell me what you see

A garden filled with charming buds, thyme and rosemary

Peering through the enchanted door, tell me what you hear

Bumble bees humbly, buzzing endless cheer

Peering through the enchanted door, tell me what you feel

A soft and velvet texture, light and so surreal

Walking through the enchanted door, tell what you hear

A clamouring of tambourines is sounding very near

Walking through the enchanted door, tell me what you see

A fairy land of mysteries, staring back at me

At quarter past eight, I thought I would be late

Yet it was still early in the morning

Become what may, of the school holiday

My grandfather Joe was still yawning

At quarter past nine, I really took my time

My bowl of porridge was awaiting

At five past ten, I woke up from my den

My grandmother Sue was still debating

At half past eleven, we reached the River Severn

The ducks on the bank were astounding

At twenty to twelve, we saw a Mr Melve

He fell into the river, heart was pounding

At ten past one, my joy had nearly gone

My very tiny belly was to grumble

Yet five minutes later, we saw a kind waiter

The best meal ever, rendered humble

At twenty five to two, we visited the zoo

Gorillas were looking at me strangely

At five past three, birds surrounding me

They seemed to want to re-arrange thee

At quarter past four, we reached the zoo door

Grandmother left the shop so jolly

At half past five, her smile had come alive

She had bought me gifts and holly

At ten past six, my bike he had to fix

The shining glare was less appealing

At half past six, I was really in the mix

Dinner time coming was the feeling

At five to eight, they thought I couldn’t wait

Bedtime stories were commencing

Laughing in the night, a glorious sight

Grandfather talked about fencing

By quarter past eight, at a splendid rate

Grandfather saw me looking sleepy

Into the night, switching off the light

Twinkling stars will surely greet me

Joy
Only those who know will understand

How I’m encapsulated by your command

How you brighten my day

With every thoughtful ray

That joy that wondrous joy

Only those who understand will ever feel

The essence of your heart not one could steal

How you turn the sky so blue

How you make my thoughts anew

That joy that wondrous joy

Only those who feel will embrace

Your footprints left without a trace

How your warm delight

Fathoms more than might

That joy that wondrous joy

Only those who embrace will truly care

Whether coming or going, you’re always there

How you render me still

Only your love could fill

That joy that wondrous joy

Oh how my mum is special to me, not only because she prepares my tea

The way she sings so happily, she’s who I’d like to grow to be

She’s so sincere a heart of gold, with loving care her arms unfold

Yet longing for those days of old, new-born gift that she did hold

A soft whisper, a gentle tone, with her love I’m not alone

On days away the first to phone, that loving place I call my home

Such gentle strokes to comb my hair, she’s attentive and so fair

Her sheer presence, no house bare, the day’s she’s helped with clothes to wear

The wonder of her thoughtful gaze, the hope she kept a child to raise

Seasons new, a cherished phase, contained in her humble ways

Wrapped in warmth just like a glove, watching over from above

She glides across just like a glove, that ever special kind of love

I ‘standeth’ in awe

It warms by day, yet cools at night

Of the ocean, of the lake, and from thy wet ground

N-o-w evaporate

As though still, but invisible

Water vapour now a

Rendered cool, droplets form, liquid water born

N-o-w condensate

Form thy clouds, form thy rain

Through winter ‘formeth’ snow again

Your varied forms, ever-changing face

Whilst humid, vapour in the air contained

Exceed beyond thy limit, thy air cannot hold

Let the misty atmosphere unfold

The tropics of dew

Ever condensing from morning air

In the cool clear night, quietly escape

Cool droplets of dew, morning grass made new

Soft crystals n-o-w form

Conditions suffice, ‘turneth’ to ice

Ever-changing, rendered new
