Intimacy's purest form, untarnished by silence.
Humming hearts in perfect synchronization
Manifesting symphonies, unabashed by conscience.

Souls unable to, left uncherished,
Consigned to a deaf roaring fire.
For god so loved his only self, that he let the world perish.

My life is okay;
I'm sure I can't complain.
Yet with each passing day,
My chest aches with dull pain.

Most nights I remember,
Whilst I smoke away my woes,
That night in December,
Just two years ago.

I wonder if she cares.
She shows little sign.
Our conversation becomes rare,
And no longer worth her time.

I ponder letting her read this,
As if it will somehow change her mind.
But know this, it's a matter of the heart,
And hers is no longer mine.

I remind myself that self-pity solves nothing.
She's simply moved on.
And the love she once had for me
Is already long gone.

The world's lost it's color,
And I've heard that mine's changed.
I'll never forget her,
And this unsent poem I've stained
With salty water.
