the most difficult words to say
are those that lie in that unexplored space
between the said and the unsaid
that which was spoken was understood
furthermore you did divine much of that which wasn’t
but there are some salient sentiments
that begin somewhere in the depths of myself
traverse  the tricky path to my lips
and die there
incognito

yellow mini suns
bright lanterns on a dull day
nourishingly warm

some people
are like dried red chillies -
dangerous looking.
when in hot oil
they jump, splutter,
threaten and make a lot of noise
but then
you realize
that their heat is impotent
as the seeds inside
are quite dead

unknown to me
are mine own thoughts
this mind I have
filled with blank spots
the gaps are growing
they fill my unknowing
further am I into perplexity
if only I could understand this complexity
here am I sitting in the unknown
here am I all, all alone.
I was concerned
When friends told me
'Love is blind'

Well, why was I
One to worry?
For what they said in church

They taught to me
'God is love'
I paid attention in math

See, if God is love
and love is blind
then God is blind

Now it makes sense
For so much to pass
Why good don't last

And to why we're flawed
It's clear as glass
For God blinds us all
our evenings blue
await the sky’s rosy blushed face
some calming chaos
bringing forth the shy ardor
eyes dance anticipating
my sweetheart’s presence

this swirling roaring wind that blows homeward from the sea
saltiness with eucalyptus blending in twisting my fear
the knots in my chest and stomach entangling
                                                      deadly mocktail of emotions surging
                                                          with every  howling whoosh
a new green life falls breaking
                                                                              life prematurely ending
                                                                                 storm violently shaking
                                                                                    every limb of every tree
                                                                        an attempt to blow anxiety
                                                                        into each living breath
                                                                                 a drenched vision
                                                                                     of a couple of crows
                                                                                   seemingly meditating
in the midst of the tempest
                                                                     holding their own
                                                                                in the eye
                                                                                of the storm
                                                                                  they find
                                                                                     Peace

my city Chennai experienced the effect of Cyclone Nilam which hit the south-east coast of India yesterday. No major damage done in the city though. 1 person has been reported dead and 5 missing at sea. My prayers go out to them , and to those affected by Sandy as well.
There once was a man with a life very kind
Until he was taken away
Now he's alone with the thoughts in his mind
And he never does like what they say

His memories hurt and his dreams are so good
That it's difficult just to wake up
Because life isn't kind anymore to the man
It's easier just to give up

His days are a hole so his brain fills the time
By telling him tales of the past
It showed him the things he had done to survive
The journey to failure was fast

He'd be here forever, alone in this place
A prisoner in his own mind
He'd run far away, change his name and his face
But his captors would chase him in kind

All he had was a mind now tormented with grief
That it gave him depression and tears
He needed an out, to turn a new leaf
In order to live out the years

He scrounged up a pencil and paper as well
And then he began to write
Things of no consequence, letters and poems
In an effort to emulate flight

When the words started coming, he first couldn't tell
That he no longer felt so alone
His thoughts were too focused on what to write next
That the writing itself was his home

He wrote on the page for a day and a night
Then he folded and put it aside
In a package of paper, stuffed tight in a box
That was red with a slot in the side

A man came to get them, the pages he wrote
To see what the people would say
But nobody knew what to do with the words
So they laughed and they threw them away

He never escaped, there isn't a smile
And the end of this woe riddled tale
Just a message to leave in the hopes you'll receive
A discarded man's thoughts in the mail.
my subconscious writes me letters
gentle urgings -
from that deepest space
where dreams go to rest
and fears go to hide
little fragments of inspiration
that dance provocatively
only to vanish
when i rise from my stupor
little ghosts of memories past
present and future
bound up together
as unfailing reminders
that wherever i go
i will always be me
