we all start out as empty canvases
until one draws a line
the line is covered up
for no one to see

roll up her sleeves
remove her bracelets
see she's no longer
an empty canvas

the lines painted red
and cut to the core
she's different than the rest
she's different than you

as you try to comprehend
she pulls down her sleeves
and gets down on her knees
the lines no longer blend

pretend you care
leave her bare
then run away
and leave her to decay

i'm finished with your games
i'm finished with your lies
you like to play the joker
you like when I'm your victim

you mess with my head daily
you trick me every day
no one wants to play
your pointless little games

I haven't a home
I'm an alien to all
all things, all people

I can't help but push people away
I don't deserve them
they deserve better

If they stay,
one day
they will realize
just how great they are
and leave me behind
Gabriella May 2013
why won't you notice me
like I notice you
look at me
the way I look at you
think about me
the way I think about you
smile at me
the way I smile at you
is that too much to ask for?

Sorrow consumes
Sorrow intimidates
Sorrow lurks
Sorrow prowls
Sorrow envelopes
Sorrow engulfs
Sorrow is unescapable

before you **** yourself
just remember
there's places to see
people to meet
books to read
poems to write
photos to take
and
memories to make
so why,
oh why,
do you wish
to be dead?

Just as the moon has craters,
you have imperfections
I accept yours
and I hope you'll accept mine.

I lost count
of the cracks
in my soul
long ago

Tears stream down
my face
I've lost something
I can't replace
Still editing this one and will be adding more to it.

Her parents never asked why there was blood in the sink.
They didn't even bother to question why her wrists were pink.

Her boyfriend didn't feel the tears on her cheeks.
He never could've guessed that she felt so weak.

Her friends didn't get why she locked the bathroom door.
They didn't understand she was cutting to her core.
