a gesture of a feeling
a picture on a ceiling
a doctor in his dealing
Effortlessly healing
and I am moved

prayer of a pine tree
flowing in the wind
rooted but free
reminding me of me
and I am moved

edifices of people gone by
never thinking they would die
mysterious, mystical scriptures
learning as I try
and I am moved

split second of that look
saying chapters in a book
filling up my heart
every corner, each nook
and I am moved

like waves to the shore
shaken to the core
leaving marks on time
a legacy for sure
and I am moved

easily I am moved
adding passion to my fire
taking me ever higher
not broken though tired
breathing to be inspired.

Beloved earth covers me
so it covers my longing
with time eats everything
but just excuse this heart
my heart is like gold
although my body stinks
because here lives my beloved
and my hope of being one with him at last
how can I give my heart to the earth
my heart is with my beloved
what will I show on the judgment day
I have nothing special
only this heart is all I have earned
no prayers and no meditations
my heart is His, and I am His
and His is my longing/ thirst
how do I ask for Him from Him
When nothing else suffices

Dastan-e-dil
November 26, 2013

mati sohni dhampay mujhko
so dhampay meree pyas
waqt away to khaway sab kuch
is dil ka rakhna paas
dil hai mera sonay jesa
tan say avay bass
is mai rahta sajan sona
aur us ik wasal ke aas
mati ko dil kasay day do
mera dil sajan kay pass
broz-e-hashar kia dikhlao ga
kuch bhee nahee hai khass
bas yeh dil he ** kull ponji
na sajday, na sanyas
dil bhe uska main bhe uska
aur uske meree pyass
us ko us say mango kasay
jub aur nahee kuch ras

i just hope and pray

to find My Shams,
or the Khizar to my Shams,
before i dock eternally
before the circle starts again.
for All i see blinds me
the more i see blinds me
give me a Khizar to show
show me a Khizar to give
All i live, is a want to love.
All i want is,a love to live
take my boat, take my star
be my boat be my star.
don,t let me float aimlessly
this aimlessness let Shams Be.

Been some time,
like the chime
needs the wind
for your voice
to wake me up
for me to see
to feel, how it feels
to see, Ah yes!
Been some time.

to feel at least
how the trees
long for the summer
to melt away the snow
to feel, Ah yes!
been some time.

to live excitement
of chance of prospects
of longing or longed
to live, Ah yes!
Been some time

Come like winter
to the lake
Freezing my body
numb and motionless
letting my soul flow
like water
caressing me
from within

Come like spring
to the pine tree
Pushing me from inside
Budding with new desire
Making new life
Ecstasy to each flower

Come like summer
to the fruit
Ripening me from within
sweetening with all your heat
Rotting the undesired
peeling off my shell
rosy and fired

Come like autumn
to the forest
Taking the peace away
Cleansing with each gust
playing like a master may
sweeping me your way

With every passing season
i stray and i negate
please just come
don't make me wait
Come like you would
from me, taking me away
don't let me cry no more
Resonating as the Ney

"manashiq-e chashm-e mast yarastum"
is the kind of feeling
i like to wake up to
it is part of you
the meaning is also you
yet you wonder what it means

like the flute
that cries to return
on a quiet cold evening
from miles touches the heart
listen coz it may burn
yet you wonder what it means

on a snow clad day
you stop to wonder
the one green shoot
that stands out facing thunder
it is there to stay
yet you wonder what it means

all that you do
some you can explain
but most of your life
not thinking
you try in vein
yet you wonder what it means

passionately curious
you flow in space and time
cause thats who you are
"i am in love with my beloved's intoxicated eyes"
is what it means
your heart will always know
which beloved, what eyes
your love and what it means.
the poem starts with the persian phrase "manashiq-e chashm-e mast yarastum", originally from an Afghan song.

Ah my desired sight
when I close my eyes
I still see you, walking
On a February morning bright
Fiddling with your bangs
On a snowy road side
You smile to see me waiting
just frozen in your shine
as i hold you tight
your embrace giving me life
Like spring to the pine
Oh desired sight of mine.
Ah my distanced love
You feel so extremely far
Like crimson of the day break
That ends a sleepless night
When You come and whisper
Just inches from my face
I listen and smile helpless
Re living passed days
sinking in sin full sweetness
Like honey made of wine
Yes, I surely sense you
On the pillow next to me
Oh distanced love of mine
