Shadow lies upon the land
And shadow in my heart
I let go my beloved's hand
And saw my love depart
After this unhappy day
As evening falls to night
I can no longer see my way
But I can see a light

The sky remembers everything
An plays it like a show
Upon the massive mountain peak
Of broken stone and snow
Upon the faceted array
A torrent of emotion
Evolves in painted interplay
Progression without motion

In colors otherworldly
Expressed without a sound
The secret is revealed to me
And consolation found
No place upon the earth is he
Our time together done
But his love still shines upon me
Long past the setting sun

The Divine Poem

I held the pen that wrote the word
The word came not from me
But rather as a voice unheard
Dictated what would be
Here now the poem lies in lines
It isn’t mine to name it
As the divine itself defines
And defies me to claim it

After Last Harvest Autumn’s ablaze
With falling leaves and frosty days
In this world between worlds
This time between time
Scarce be the song
And rare the rhyme

Between the storms the light shines through
The Wild Hunt comes into view
By the dark of the moon
Of the waning year
Mortality
Becomes too clear

Between the future and the past
Amid the colors fading fast
Hasten homeward
Lock the gate
Tend the fire
Watch and wait
