Searching far and wide
Looking for a way to the other side
You never knew the answer was within

You walked into the scene,
Bringing me flowers and this love me scheme.
Saying a life with you was everything I need.
Asking me question to get to know me just right,
Loving me and holding me tight.
Who knew it was to hold for amo in a later fight
You changed so drastically
Stopped being you and stopped liking me
Nothing but insecurities remained
Trying to attack me while you sulked in pain
You took the love scheme
And turned it from a dream to nightmare
The day you left you showed that you don’t care
This was all a facade
I’m left sitting here wondering was this all a nightmare?
Why did you come into my life, why did you leave, why did you ever say you cared?
False hope, false love, a façade was what was there
Yes you turned into my nightmare

Like hiking in the fog.
Only the brightest or burning memory shines through
Some of these memories are just mine, others I’ve shared with you
Some places on my path are beautiful and  stunning
While others feel their placement is uncanny and cunning
When I walk my memory lane, I see growth through the pain
Tears, Love, Finding oneself I did gain
The more path I create, the more is can see what creates a memory lane
As I seek to move forward, I will choose happiness, and not in vain
I promise myself I will seek moments of joy, growth, and security.
For all other factors that do not matter, I will keep in the fog and leave them blurry
So the next time I take a stroll I will see all beauty
To see what has blossomed amist the rain
To see what has grown and what has changed.
Yes, the beautiful path is mine to create
Mine to allow those who will stamp by fate.
For now, I know what to seek.
To make a beautiful memory lane complete

Forehead to forehead

You slide your fingers across my skin

You whisper in my ear
Right then I let go of all fear
The fear of being right or wrong
The fear of holding on

I dance around you
I feel the warmth around my skin
I hear a crackle
The embers burning bright within
As the flames grow I’m pulled closer in
I stoke the fire
Filled with the heat of desire
But be careful and aware
Dancing around the flames you may fall in
Don’t stand too close, please beware
The burns leave scars deeper than the skin
You think you can control it
You think you own the moment
But know with one false move

Reflection is a beautiful thing
It brings joy and it brings pain
Be better or be worse
Let it be a blessing or a curse

She was the girl who grew up in a silent world of pain
Her internal scream echoed through her soul while she tried to beam
All she knew was she had to move forward somehow
One day she became a woman strong and free
Looking back on her past, remember how horrible life could be
She took that moment and shed a tear
And continued pressing forward with no fear
She knew the only thing that could connect her to the pain
Was if she let the past take hold and reign

She chose every day to set herself free

From the pain that was her memory

Each step moving forward, each breath light

Because she knows she will never give up the fight

The fight to see the future is hers to take

And whatever she wants she is able to make

One day you asked for me to sacrifice,
I asked if we could compromise
You said no and I said please
You said no or you would leave
So that became the day to day,
I would sacrifice so you would be ok
Eventually, I could not live this way anymore
And that's the day you walked out of the door
But that's ok because now I am free
I get to live my own destiny
Thanks for teaching me a lesson
That living your own life is the blessing
Do not conform, do not change

Do I fuel fear or does fear fuel me?
Does fear keep me from being?
Or create who I want to be?

Fear becomes a barrier each day I let it
But when I overcome it I desire credit

Fearing the day to day
Is a figment of my imagination
It keeps from adventure
Even though it is my own creation

How can fear be such a powerful tool
Yet at the end of the day, it can make me out to be such a fool

No more, NO I will not let it chase away my dreams
Although the next step is harder than it seems
Don't fuel fear, but let fear be the fuel
Never let fear stop you from pushing through

Some days it rains
Some days it shines
Some days you're happy
Some days you cry
Some days create precious moments
Some days leave painful scars
Some days turns into a lifetime
And that is who you are

To some I look simple
To some I look lovely
To some I look nimble
To some I look ugly
But to all they don't know
To all they can't see
To all they will never know the depth of me

Alone she stood, tall and strong
Nothing could bend her; nothing could break her.
How could you bend or break the broken?
She stood there holding the pieces of her life.
Every day she wanted to throw these to the wind and start over
But nothing could bend, nothing could break
This is her life.

You see tears behind her cold eyes.
Tears that refuse to fall.
A smile that catches your eye,
Her smile filled with lies.
But something’s missing It makes you want to know;
It makes you keep on wishing,
You see her life is all for show.
Until you look into those sad cold eyes And see the tears that were never cried.
You feel her life of sadness sinking in From the tears which never would begin.
The love she didn’t get to see The hurt is her one memory.

One day you came and stopped the earth
You grew and grew, widespread from birth.
With a giant sweep you took away so much,
But one thing you cannot touch,
Is the human's ability to rise above.
You are a monster, you are a beast,
But little did you know we will create a better destiny.
You take our jobs, you take our lives,
But our innovation comes in strides.
Yes we are growing just like you,
As you try to destroy the world, we are creating ways to conquer you.
Don’t you worry we will be strong and win this battle,
COVID-19 I can’t wait to see you shatter.
You’ve taken our human contact for now,
But believe me when I say I’ll be hugging friends and family someway, somehow.
Because of you, I will appreciate more and complain less,
I won’t take life for granted; I will always feel blessed.
You came with a vengeance and the world is meeting you with passion,
Our love, our strength, our bond as humans is a chain reaction.
We will continue to fight and love each other more,
We will rebuild our lives and make it even better than before.
