Love is a war
A drug
A sinner's luck

It makes the kings of kings fall to his knees
The queen of queens content
It makes the common folk write poetry
And all the slaves lament
Ernest Goh Jul 2010
And as night dawns
My face takes a beating
My heart put to the test
Darkness overwhelms
Like a swift arrow
Aimed straight at my soul
For love was a sin
Loving her was just this
Stabbed like a pin
And tonight I fall
Lifeless and unconscious
Anticipating
For that once tender feeling
Pain
Written in a haste to record that moment in time, of loving rejection.

The moment has passed
you need to write it down
the words should flow like your memory and
reflect the nature of its beauty
Scribble Scribble
you try and find the right words but
the memory slowly fades
the words don't fall into place
Alas!
the poem is lost and only the itch stays
Ernest Goh Aug 2010
He strode out into the rain
Smiling subtly
There was a controlled ecstasy
To his movements
Like a subdued explosion
Like meeting an old friend
Peter, cascades
Patcher, plummets
To the beat of
Tip tap slippers
Sploshing in unison
To the tune of the falling rain
Arms outspread
He was as they say
A walking cliche
