A lovely young woman with a child at her feet
Opened her door and began to weep
The commander and the chaplain delivered the news
She was now a widow,a family of two

Twenty-one bullets explode into the sky
Fighting for freedom a soldier has died
He leaves behind his wife and his son
A soldier laid to rest at the age of twenty-one

A hero remembered as courageous and strong
Lost his life in a land that he did not belong
He served his country from an ocean away
Earning a medal of honor for his actions that day

And twenty-one bullets explode into the sky
Fighting for freedom a soldier has died
He leaves behind his wife and his son
A soldier laid to rest at the age
of twenty-one

Twenty-One

With tears in their eyes the ceremony begins
As the colors are folded by soldiers and friends
He now rests in peace in a land of his own
In a pine wooden box the young soldier came home

Now twenty-one bullets explode into the sky
Fighting for freedom a soldier has died
He leaves behind his wife and his son
A soldier laid to rest at the age

Yeah twenty-one bullets explode into the sky
Fighting for freedom a soldier has died
He leaves behind his wife and his son
A soldier laid to rest at the age

of twenty-one twenty-one

Lord,I've been down too long,on weakened knees
I'm calling upon you, to give me strength
Lord ,will you help me
Help me to my feet

When I look around ..I see
So many people,struggling
I know Lord,it was not your plan
The cause comes from, sins of man
Yeah I know, when the time is right
You'll reach down, with your love and light
You'll sort the evil from the good
All things ,will be understood
I know the time,is drawing near
Pictures are becoming clear
It is I,that needs to stand strong
Believing you,will right all wrong

Lord,I've been down too long,on weakened knees
I'm calling upon you ,to give me strength
Lord will you help me
Help me to my feet

Lord,I've been down too long,on weakened knees
I'm calling upon you ,to give me strength
Lord will you help me
Help me to my feet

Lord will you help me
Help me to my feet

Saw a man with a cardboard sign
Wrinkled skin and bloodshot eyes
An untrimmed beard and matted hair
Thin legs strapped to a wheel chair
I sat with him and he told his tale
Of his senior trip to the gates of hell
He said ,when you were just a thought
I was sent to Vietnam and there I fought

Cause I made a promise to defend
Our constitution to the end
I vowed to serve and to protect
I took that oath without regret
I fought for freedom fought for rights
I fought for peace both day and night
For this country the home of the free
Fought for you I fought for me

I took a bullet to my spine
Still carry remnants they left behind
I came home to no parade
I guess you all were too just afraid
And from his pocket with a weathered hand
He pulled the flag for which he stands
I watched his body fill with pride
And felt the pain that he kept inside

You know he.. made a promise to defend
Our constitution to the end
A vow to serve and to protect
He took that oath without regret
Fought for freedom fought for rights
He fought for peace both day and night
For this country the home of the free
He fought for you he fought for me

oh oh oh..Forgotten Hero~

I want to live,in a world
Where
People live in harmony
building homes filled with dreams
With no broken hearts
crying in the dark
And there is no poverty

With Children playing on a swing
In a garden colored pretty green
With no broken hearts
crying in the dark
And there are no tragedies

And people are living peacefully
There is no war causing misery
With no broken hearts
crying in the dark
And everyone is free

I want to live in a world
Where
No hearts are breakin'

No lives are taken
No poverty or tragedies
No bullets flying
No people dying

And everyone is free
yeah
everyone is free

I want to live in a world
where
no hearts are breaking
No lives are taken

No poverty or tragedies
No bullets flying
No people dying

And everyone is free
Yeah everyone is free
mmm..mmm..mmm

Among the glitter and the glamour there's a lonely girl
A little diamond in the desert, lost in this world
In the shadows of the city there must be light somewhere
And so we search for answers, keeping faith in prayer

Melanie's whispers float flawless on the wind
So very faint but I can hear you my friend
Your silhouette dances across the desert land
Are you dancing with God
Is He holding your hand

The path of the missing is a long and frightening road
Sadly there are thousands my friend you're not alone
As I watched the news I never ever thought I'd see
Someone I love disappear into a mystery

Your picture is on fliers and in your daughters' hearts
Someone please come forward; we are stumbling in the dark
One lone footprint leads to destination unknown
We will keep on searching 'til you are finally home

Melanie's whispers float flawless on the wind
So very faint but I can hear you my friend
Your silhouette dances across the desert land
Are you dancing with God
Is He holding your hand

Where are yoooooooou Melanie...
where are yoooooou Melanie..
where are yoooooou Melanie
Can you hear uuuuuss

Silence overwhelming what once was filled with song
We miss you Mel..so much that were trying to be strong
As I listen to the quiet, wishing I could hear
You saaaaay, "I am right heeere"

Melanie's whispers float flawless on the wind
So very faint but I can hear you my friend
Your silhouette dances across the desert land
Are you dancing with God
Is He holding your hand

Melanie's whispers float flawless on the wind
So very faint but I can hear you my friend
Your silhouette dances across the desert land
Are you dancing with God
Is He holding your hand

Where are yoooooooou Melanie...
where are yooou Melanie..
where are yooooou Melanie
Can you hear uuuuussss

A moonlit room
fills with dreams
Dancing shadows
and shiny things

Colored clouds
finding shape
Truth and fantasy
sharing space

Flowers dance
with honey bees
Songs are heard
In willow trees

Candy wrappers
and lollipops
Telling jokes
to pink gumdrops

Golden ponies
run wild and free
as a little girl
sleeps peacefully

Conversations with
porcelain dolls
Simple thoughts
bounce off walls

Memories of
childhood yesterdays
Playing with minds
of molding clay

Sweet dreams fill
a pillow case
As smiles appear
on a sleeping face

Watching you dance in the Arizona breeze
Through the forest above tall pine trees

Your spirit is free

While carving your name into sandstone
You fly from the edge of Mongollon Rim
I watch you go
Your ashes blow
Beyond the cool high country
Above the burning desert below

A million miles high further than I can see
Leaving a part of you here with me

While carving your name into sandstone
You fly from the edge of the Mongollon Rim
I watch you go
Your ashes blow
Beyond the cool high country
Above the burning desert below

I'll hold you forever in my memory
While you mix with the mystery

Your spirit is free
