Dear Stranger

Dear Stranger,

I think you may have forgotten something.

You may have forgotten how special you are. How valued you are.

That you are loved, if not by the people close to you, then by people who don’t know you and who have never met you.

Whoever you are, whatever you’ve done, you are loved. You deserve to be happy. Give yourself permission to heal.

If you don’t feel good, allow yourself to feel what you feel. FEEL it. Feel the grief, sadness, despair, guilt, shame. It may even bubble to the surface, intensify. Then give yourself time to heal and release it. Be gentle with yourself, you deserve a little nurturing. And eventually begin again to wake up to the beauty of the world. Even if your current world is dark, there is light there, waiting for you.

You may have forgotten that we all hurt. That we all suffer. That we’re all here to find ourselves through our challenges.

I’m here to remind you that through your suffering you can grow.
"For a seed to achieve it’s greatest expression, it must come completely undone – to someone who does not understand growth, this would look like complete destruction."

Through experiencing what we don’t want, we can turn towards what we do want.

If you’re in pain, have patience. If you truly want things to get better, they will. Move away from people and places that don’t make you feel good. Spend time alone if you need to. Listen to music that uplifts you. Listen to the rain. Smile, laugh.

If you feel you have become fragmented, cluttered or cracked, remember that you are already pure, complete and whole beneath the surface, where you are safe.

You just need to look closer to see yourself more clearly.
