Ocean.
Erin Bryant May 2015
Gentle waters brew miles away
Familiar blues,
By which I used to play.
My happiness relied on you
Gentle blues.
Sweep me up and hold me,
Familiar like a mothers warmth,
There wasn't a pain it couldn't relieve.
Time spent exploring your soul,
Slipping from your grip as the sun went down.
Your pull so hard,
I feel as though I'll drowned.
Are there secrets in your depths,
Are there sins way down deep,
Pains you are expected to keep,
Why don't you like to be alone when you sleep.
Rays slice through your darkness,
Taking away your fears,
And you draw me in for many more years.
Gentle waters brew miles away,
Familiar Blues,
By which I used to play.
Sweep me up and hold me,
It's time for me to leave,
I'll find my way back soon,
Please don't grieve.
The miles between us can tell,
That without you,
I'm not doing so well.
As I make my way back
I think about the inevitable,
If no ones there to see you,
Are you still beautiful?
